Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: User issues with logging in and resetting passwordsI’m going to tell you something that you may not like.
The easiest way to debug this is to still disable and enable plugins until you find the culprit.
I know you can’t do this on a production site.
But make a copy of your site with a plugin like Duplicator ( https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/duplicator/ ) and boot up a staging / testing copy.
You can pretty much do this on your current hosting account on a subdomain. (If your host uses cPanel, you can do that easily)

Please do not ask for admin access here, even if the delivery method is through your system. We cannot control what you do over at your system or what you say – nor do we want to, but don’t do it here.
Take note that when you ask for such access, you are also essentially taking responsibility for anything that might happen to the site.
That is not a good solution. PHP 5.3.29 has been insecure for many years. In fact, just yesterday/today (21st July), PHP 5.5 has stopped receiving security updates.
Your site is now inherently insecure because you’re using a insecure PHP version.
I recommend you tell your host that it’s not a smart move and to suggest other solutions.
Feel free to show them this thread.

In reply to: Help with storefront navigation bar single rowYou’re probably better off posting directly in the theme’s support forum.
That being said, your click bait amounts to nothing, people who can help you won’t click it. And you’re only attracting people who also need help. Don’t be that guy.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Unable to login to wp admin when woocommerce is activedAre you paying anything to WooCommerce / WooThemes that allows you to treat support like it’s an entitlement?
If so, please use the WooThemes/WooCommerce ticketing system. It will take time because they have many customers.
If you did not, I’d say that paying a developer to look at it was the right way to go.
As for the Skype thing, please note that ‘following users home’ isn’t allowed in the support forums.
Use the systems that are given to you, do not do things like hunt down skype IDs from their websites or what not to contact them.
You wouldn’t want that done to you, so don’t do it.
I’m closing this thread since help is no longer needed and it’s starting to become abusive.

In reply to: Changing FTP infoThe only time WordPress will ask for FTP is when you have permission or ownership issues.
That is host related.

In reply to: Restoring after multiple sites were recently hackedYou really need to keep to one topic unless you have a separate question. If you create new ones, they will be closed (again unless it’s a separate question).
And sure you can reinstall WordPress without the content folder. That also means you will have none of the themes or plugins or the files you have uploaded.
In any case, even if you do that, an infected database can still re-infect the files once more.
Hire a professional to clean your site, or start afresh.
I’m taking it at face value that you see a problem and that you’re providing context for us to look into it.
The last few posts seem to be going around in circles and I believe whatever needs to be said has been said.
I’m closing this topic and will simply send the link to this topic to the foundation.
Thanks.

In reply to: don't suggest russian for visitors from latviaThat suggestion box for you to visit a forum that might be in your native language is based on geolocation.
It’s not 100% perfect. We’re aware of it.
It will get better at some point definitely ??
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [evolve] Increase header size@romik84 : Hey thank you for being a theme developer.
Contributing to WordPress is a wonderful thing and I know it’s tough when users don’t use your products as expected.
While that is frustrating, you could also look at it as a learning experience and see threads like these as opportunities to make your theme even better!
That being said, calling users lazy is uncalled for so let’s turn the negative flow into positive energy ??
Cheers!

In reply to: Error when updating my theme@paola4 : Konstantin’s reply is likely the answer you’re looking for. ??
@jhample : Thank you for trying to help. But providing unsolicited links to your own product / service isn’t what we want here. Help people genuinely and they may engage your service through clicking on the link that we do allow on profiles ??
Also, about asking for admin access –
Please don’t do that: when you offer to get admin access and/or FTP access then you’re really going too far and that’s not cool.
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#The_Bad_Stuff
If you are given admin credentials, you are potentially liable for any potential damage that maybe caused, not only by yourself but anyone accessing the system. Even if you do not provide warranty with your own product.
Unless you’re willing to take responsibility for that user’s installation from now on (and they should NOT let you do that) then please do not ask or suggest that someone provide you those admin or FTP details.
You can provide assistance here, ask for log data, you can make recommendations and even suggest changes. But do not seek admin or FTP access. That’s just going too far.
