In reply to: [WooCommerce] Product Attributes without Variation Don’t Display@dazemx It seems like it’s going to work out with a few tweaks. I need to keep my product as variable, because of a need to manage stock per variation, and variation images, so I removed the test for is_type (‘variable’). I also filter out the attribute that is set to use for the variation to avoid double popups. Thanks again ??

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Calendar month renders over wordpress menuYeah, I had the same issues, The Event Calendar doesn’t play well with others. The solution, courtesy of the support team is to raize the z-level of the main menu. I think I set mine to 102 in the z-level. I used an Elementor 2 header, don’t know how it’s done when under theme control, but in Elementor you set the z-level in Advanced settings for the menu widget.
I’ve happened to make some progress, but I fail to understand why. Elementor 2.0 has the ability to set up templates, and some time ago I had added an Archive template, with a condition to apply to “All Archives”.
I was trying to understand what an Archive is in WP speak, what it is used for with no success.
I’d like if someone could explain what a WP archive is. Of course I know what the word “archive” normally means, but the specific WP speak meaning escapes me.
Anyway, I decided to clean up the Elementor templates, and after I deleted the Archive template, the Month view STARTED WORKING?
Can someone explain the concepts in play here ?
Thanks

In reply to: Create new page/post without page title, top bar, sidebar etcHi Naveen
Thanks for the reply. Yes, creating a new template file is easy. The thing I don’t know is how to actually edit it to not have the topbar, page title and side bar.
The article you post says “You can now continue editing your custom page template file. You can customize it in any way you want. For example, you can remove the sidebar, add custom PHP code, add any other HTML you want.”
That is the precise part I need guidance for ??
The page.php in the OceanWP theme has a ocean_display_sidebar that I can uncomment, but I don’t see how the top bar, title etc is controlled. I also use 100% full width
In the Page/Post settings you have “Default/Enable/Disable” for for example the page title, so I don’t actually think editing the template is the right way. I need to see the “default” value for that, which is “enable”. There must be a configuration somewhere.
Thanks

Hi Annie,
Thanks for the information.
I made a new page, https://www.craftypots.studio/blog/ without a sidebar or page title. Then I went to Settings/Reading and chose that page under the “Posts page” setting, and saved the changes. However this has not affected where the Read More link displays the posts. Is there anything else I need to do ?
I found the Single Post entry in the Customizer and was able to affect some of the elements on the Read More page.
In order to turn off the page title, I had to go to Posts in the dashboard and turn it off like I have to do on all new pages. That is going to be very tedious over time. There must be a way to make WP create new pages and posts without title and sidebar by default ? How do I set the “default” default for new posts and pages ?
It doesn’t seem like the “Posts Page” has any effect, but I think I’ve made some progress. In Elementor Settings I checked “Posts” as well as “Pages” and then I was able to use Elementor to add things to the page that is displayed when I click Read More.
So, some progress has been made ??
Thanks
Kent
