Well, as I am not a coder, I cannot expplain in detail, but after months of extensive research, consulting WP experts, and having many useless conversations with GoDaddy (our host), we determined the issue had to do with an incompatibility between the most recent WP version and PHP language. I found a coder who was able to go into the file and make the necessary adjustment.
The message went away, and the site is back up and running. There are still some things that don’t work right (a few permalinks are still broken, etc) but, overall, the site is good now.

    Hi Steve

Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer yet, and XYDAC (the plugin’s developer) hasn’t responded to my inquiries.

Are you having this problem specifically with Ultimate Taxonomy Manager? Or is the problem with a different plugin? I think my issue is specific to the UTM plugin…

Going through the support threads now. Looks like lots of problems with few (if any) solutions.

Thanks so much for your insight, songdogtech. If you or anyone else have any additional thoughts/suggestions, I’d appreciate it. In the meantime, I’ll keep researching…

    Hi Songdogtech!

I know – I took over this site recently and ran the updates before I realized how old this plugin is. What I have found is that when I deactivate the plugin, my pages go to 404. If I uninstall UTM and install a more current plugin, will I lose any of the data on the site?

On a related note, is there a way I can test this without doing it live?

    UPDATE:
After speaking with several colleagues and doing some trial and error, I was able to determine the issue is being caused by Ultimate Taxonomy Manager. However, when I deactivate the plugin, not only does the error message go away, but so does the project content on each page. I’m hesitant to “upgrade” to WordPress Ultimate CMS (as recommended on the plugin settings).

Has this happened to anyone else? Are there known work-arounds for this or a way to ensure I don’t lose the content if(when) I deactivate/uninstall Ultimate Taxonomy Mgr?

    Thanks!
    Kev

I have tried deactivating the plugins, setting the permalinks to default, and then reactivating everything, but it hasn’t helped. (I also checked along the way while I was doing that.. and the warning message disappeared, but so did the project posts – they went to 404 before I reset everything).

I am not a veteran coder, but I have used WordPress for my own writing for almost 2 years and have never run into this problem… Is there a support line I could call?
