And there it is. I found a bit of PHP code in the footer.php for the theme. I do not know how it got there but I know the date the edit occurred and I will work backwards from there. I have also installed a file edit login plugin to help monitor this going forward. Thanks for your help.

Would it be possible in the mean time to simply run a bit of SQL to select the averages into the wp_postmeta table? If so, could you share what that query might look like?

I would gladly settle for just the sum of all likes. I can easily delete old likes in the DB to keep it current. Please help me do this. Thanks.
