Deputy is right – Since professing upfront that I don’t know much about website building, and given my history with computers, it would be more than likely for me to crash my site. I appreciate the prudence.

No offense taken deputy. I simply mean that if given directions, like, “copy this code and paste it into such and such area”, I am able to do that. Understanding what that code means or does is a different matter. I’m just simply not a code writer. If given specific instructions, step by step, I feel fairly confident that I can follow them.

Rotoblueprint – Speaking of not understanding, are you asking me to take a screen shot of what I’m talking about? If so, I’m assuming I should click on the link you provided and it will tell me how to do that. As you two can see, I am a literal person and a visual learner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the ABOUT ME page, there is a box at the bottom with a bunch of social icons and it says, “Help a gal out”. Was I drunk when I added that because I honestly don’t even remember?! (JK about the drunk part. Totally serious about the don’t remember part.)
How do I move that to my home page or make sure it shows up on all pages? Also, does my face on the left have to show up on each page? Is that just a function of the theme or is there a way to only have my picture on some pages and not on others?

In terms of accessing my site, the original domain name was RedWritingHood.org but when I try to access it I get the message “Error Establishing a Database Connection”. In the meantime how do I access PHPMyAdmin and how do I know who my host is?

If I start over, what would be the best way to do that and would I have to pay to do that?

Otto – Thanks for the help but I’m still having difficulty. Do I need to go to WordPress.com or www.ads-software.com? I didn’t realize there were two different sites. When I tried to access wordpress.com it said that my account was created when I signed up with Akismet and that I would need to activate my account. When I went to activate my account it said that my wordpress.com account is activated. In the meantime, I don’t know where to go to get back to the page where I remove the changes that I made.

The problem is that I understand so little of what I’m doing. I’m dangerous that way. I read the database approach but I don’t know what it means to access “php My Admin” and I don’t know how my server is configured and I don’t know where my files are located. I jumped in with both feet but now I’m drowning! Sorry to be such an idiot my first time out. Can someone walk me through step by step what I need to do? Should I just cancel and start over?
