Ah apologies – it also happens on the gallery and media single pages, but just not on the Mediapress items in the activity stream, they work fine.

My question was more geared up around the idea that the developer might have an inkling as to why WPUF would cause this problem, when not one of the other (many) other plugins I’ve tested cause a problem.

Any thoughts?

I bought the premium settings so that I could have extra options in my search forms amongst other things, like to allow searchers to choose multiple options by making the search fields multi-select / smartbox.

I’ve a range of hierarchical custom taxonomies (created with pods).

I have recently updated so I’m running the latest download and premium settings versions, as well as the latest WP.

(Actually I’m running the beta version you released for another user with pods who was having an issue updating posts after update because I was having the same issue).

What could be going wrong for me here that the options for smartboxes etc aren’t available, and so now when creating a GEO search form I can only select dropdowns?

Ok I will thank you – I want to add that I’ve run a new installation of wordpress- everything new, new database etc to test.

All in good order with the plugin, then I reimported the users I’d set up in previous installations of the plugin, and again it doesn’t work.

So question is what changes have been made to the way that the plugin deals with users?

I have a lot of users, and a lot of info, it is going to be a hard pill to swallow if it’s not feasible to get the new version of the plugin working with existing users, and they therefore all need adding again…

This code caused an issue where the admin, when viewing another profile, could see the other profile’s cover image and pic, but not tabs, the tabs always remained the admin’s tabs.

Resolved, it was caused by the code you have me for adding a tab in a different thread, I’ve removed it

Ps when I say the ‘post type’ I’m searching for isn’t showing up, I meant the user role not the post type.

Also I’m using a user role that isn’t a UM user type, and although it is ticked to appear in the directory, it isn’t appearing. It was before the update.

Hi I’ve tried checking this and running the various upgrades to see if that solved it, and it doesn’t unfortunately.

The filters displayed seem to be only those that have been applied to a post. If there are filters that have not yet been applied to any post they don’t appear for selection. Is this by design or part of the error? Because this is different than the previous behaviour, and the previous behaviour was was preferable, certainly in my case.

Also, although I’ve a couple of dummy posts in for testing, there are still no posts showing. The directory remains empty.

I’ve tried entering the directory and re-saving it.
I’ve checked that the post type I’m searching is checked and is the only box checked.
I’ve checked that the ‘display only after searching’ isn’t checked.
I’ve tried searching anyway, and still nothing comes up.
I’ve checked my example posts in that type to ensure they’re all okay & they are.
(And if I roll back they turn up fine).

Please advise as I can’t update until this is resolved

Thank you for this, but using this code the user (Role B) who does not need the tab still cannot see the tab on the profile of another (Role A) who does have it.

Some users need to have listed ‘places’ (post type) to show at their profile, and everyone looking at their profile should get to see the tab with a list of those places, even if their own profile does not have any ‘places’, if that makes sense.

So this is what the code needs to do:
Role A DOES have the places tab on their profile
Role B DOES NOT have the places tab on their profile, but Role A can still view that places tab if role A has it on their profile.

The code supplied doesn’t allow all roles to view the tab, only the role who has it displaying at their profile. How would we tweak the code to make it possible for all Role A and Role B to view the tab when it appears on someone’s profile, even if only Role A has it appearing at their profile?

So the tab will appear for all to view based on ‘display tab (to all) if currently displayed profile user role is A’ rather than ‘display the tab if currently logged in user role is A’

It’s a bit like something like Trip Advisor for instance: where the user profile for a business is different to a normal user. The business profile may need to show a tab with a menu. The normal user wouldn’t need to have this menu tab displayed at their profile as they’re not a business with a menu, but they still need to be able to view that tab at the business pages’ profiles.
