Nevermind, it was my stupid error – my Fukasawa-child theme was based on a pretty old version of Fukasawa. Once I updated it, the gallery works fine.

I figured it out – go into the editor and open the theme’s style.css file. Remove the following code, it will be under the “5. Blog” section:

.posts .format-standard .featured-media:hover img,
.posts .format-image .featured-media:hover img {
transform: scale(1.1);
-moz-transform: scale(1.1);
-webkit-transform: scale(1.1);
}

Not that this helps you now, but Photum is either broken or incompatible with the current WordPress. I tried to use it but it coudn’t even display posts.

If someone happens to come across this thread who is looking for a minimal theme with a left-hand menu, I would recommend trying MaryAnne or Fukasawa. They are both lovely.

Put one piece of code in the header and the other in the page template, and it finally showed up.

I’ve got the same problem – the weird thing I noticed is that in the options where I should be able to “Click to view/modify the HTML tags.” it gives me the php code instead, so if I paste it in the single page where I want it, of course nothing happens. If anyone finds a solution please post. The other solution posted (changing 2 lines of code) didn’t fix this. thanks

I just had the same problem and lost a bunch of customization and am not feeling too happy. Could you please reconsider notifying people of this so that they don’t all have to learn the hard way? This is my first time using this kind of website management and I chose WordPress because it is otherwise fairly easy.
