Turns out, the error was my own. Your plugin works! Or at least something that I tried works.

The real problem is that category description does appear on my home page (which is virtually the same as the category/portfolio page).

So I understand this is a different realm all together… my apologies!

After I followed the steps from metoo55, I changed the wp-admin/network/site-settings.php to just /%postname% and it works like a dream!!!!

As far as I can tell, everything is back to normal. This solution needs to be much more public for WordPress 3.5!

Same issue.

I run several websites. I installed wordpress with the same theme to all of them, and modified them all exactly the same way. They are also on the same host. Only one of them is having this issue, it maxes out at 24 or so menu items… I don’t know if this is a host issue then, or what…?
