  • Even I had the same error but managed to resolve.

    I had put my site on staging server initially but was unable to activate Jetpack.
    So after some research I followed the following steps.

    1) I put my site on the live domain,
    2) Removed the filters for staging & debug mode in wp-config.php.
    3) Activated Jetpack from the dashboard.
    4) Once activated I chose the modules which I required in my site.
    5) Logged out as admin & checked. Voila !
