    Really noone? I’m stuck.
After having booted my computer, its even impossible to log in again.

    – Yes, I’ve reinstalled everything carefully 5 times.
    – Yes, I’ve tried reinstalling my backup (2.3.2) – no difference
    – Yes, I deactivated all plugins before rebooting, so its prepared for another reinstall

Only option seems to start from scratch – or is there any other way?

    Grateful for any help!

    Thank you.
Some details are easy to miss, but fortunately I’ve done this right.

If anyone knows an ftp client for Mac which handles this automagically, I’d be glad to know.

    Anyone…?
Should I just delete everything and throw back in the 2.3.2 backup?

Thanks a lot! Just what I needed to know.
Now I can give it a go – “without no fear”

    One more thing, please
There’s already a WP installation running on the site (just for the blog part), but in its own blogg folder.
Could this be an issue when I build the new WP based site, or will it work fine as long as I have different MySql databases to connect them to?
    Thanks,

DONE – performed new upgrade – BUT I’M STILL LOST
To log in or out is still impossible, though the rest seems OK

Now, I’ve carefully just activated plugins found in the 2.3.3 compatibility list
and also carefully uploaded the different files in correct upload mode

Any hints would be truly appreciated.

    Thanks, Moshu
The setup is done by Install4Free (great help, truly) so I haven’t studied the details.
Anyhow, I did not touch the index.php file on the root (outside the wordpress folder) since I understood that (among other things) as containing the special setup.
(After upgrading, I’ve also clicked the Update permalinks because this is required to make the nextgen gallery work properly. It still doesn’t, but i think I’m close to a solution ??

Now, I’ll try to make a new upgrade, then we’ll see.

    Thanks – that was quick
But I did deactivate the plugins first.

SORRY – this really appears as a double posting after my initial one in the feedback forum was moved here:

Correction: The login and logout pages (at least) don’t work. Instead I get a 500 internal server error. Any ideas?
Since this is critical, I’ve moved this as a question to the Troubleshooting pages.
(Sorry if it seems like a double posting)

Thanks a lot – also for the link.
Have given it some thought, but still felt a bit insecure.

Thanks for answering such a novice’s questions. I’ve used WP for about a year, but strangly never discovered the sub-pages. And you’re the first to inform me about sub-sub-pages. (Guess its all a parent-child thing)

BUT: Regarding themes: Would you have any ideas on who could adjust a theme to fit my needs?
(Also “premium” themes would be very interesting since my goal is to build a nice-looking and well-functioning site.)

Here’s the quick fix: remove TinyMCEComments.
Tried also to upgrade to latest version, but there’s either a plugin conflict (tried to remove all other comment related plugins, but it seems that Tiny causes the problems) – or it doesn’t work with K2.
    We’ll manage without.
    Thanks again, Whooami

    Thanks for all your effort.
I could try another theme, at least upgrade to the latest of both WP and K2.
1 – What should I actually ask our ISP for, regarding the server logs?
2 – Subscribing – you’re thinking about subscribing people to eventual responses to their comments? Or are you thinking of something else?
    Thanks again,

Done – kept it on to avoid spam. You will still experience the same problem, but just in the “blogg” (not in the forum part).
No need to be harsh though, even if you had a good point.

    Thanks for your swift reply.
It seems that i made one mistake: The e-mail adress I registered as a test account turned out to be routed somewhere else – so it actually worked just as it should. Three more tests show the same. Also with all plugins active as before.
SO, for the other users who haven’t recieved any password e-mail, could there be other explanations than
    – that they’ve misspelled their e-mail address,
    – that a spam filter has catched the password e-mail
    -…?
After all, three (all) new users have reported the same problem after I upgraded to WP 2.2 – and I’d like a system as streamlined as possible…
    Thanks,
    Kjetil
