  • Hi! Thank you for contacting us. Can you confirm which plugin version you are using? Can you?

    1. Update the Plugin: Check for updates to the Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin. The issue might already be fixed in a newer version compatible with PHP 8.1+.

Could you also turn on remote diagnostic? Enable the?Remote Diagnostics?feature found in the plugin’s Settings tab. This allows the Mailchimp for WooCommerce development team to diagnose and fix the issue remotely.

Hi there! We haven’t heard from you – But I wanted to make sure you get the assistance you need

The issue you’re encountering with traffic from Mailchimp not being synced with WooCommerce might be related to several factors. To diagnose the problem, you should:

    1. Verify that the Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin is correctly installed and up to date. This ensures the latest features and fixes are in place .
    2. Confirm if the customer opted in for marketing at checkout, which is required for the sync to occur. In WooCommerce, this would be indicated by mailchimp_woocommerce_is_subscribed being set to 1 in the order’s custom fields section .
    3. Ensure that your Mailchimp Audience does not have double opt-in enabled without your knowledge. If enabled, users must click the opt-in email to be added as subscribers to your Audience, which might be causing a barrier to sync traffic source data .
    4. Check for any required fields in your Mailchimp Audience that might not be getting submitted from your WooCommerce store – if FNAME and LNAME are required in Mailchimp, for instance, but not provided in WooCommerce, the sync might fail .
    5. Confirm that the email addresses of the customers are not deleted from Mailchimp or are not being caught by spam filters, as this can also cause sync failures .
    6. A forced resynchronization from the plugin’s syncing page may address the issue if all settings are correctly configured but the data is still not syncing .
    7. If you are using filters in your store that might be blocking the mailchimp_allowed_to_use_cookie with the term mailchimp_user_email, this could affect the tracking of users and subsequently the traffic source data. Make sure to allow this cookie to track revenue and user behavior properly since version 2.8 of the plugin detects “last click” from the API as an alternative in case cookies don’t capture the necessary data .

If you have gone through these steps and the issue persists, it could be indicative of a more complex problem possibly involving your website’s specific configuration or an unanticipated conflict. In such cases, you might want to reach out to Mailchimp support directly for assistance or consider technical support that can look into your specific setup.

But we are still here if you enable remote diagnostics.

Hi @nhtechgal Thanks so much for supporting the plugin! Lets get you ready for the busy season!

The issue you are experiencing where repeat customers who are logged into your WooCommerce store do not see the “Subscribe” checkbox at checkout is known behavior for the Mailchimp for WooCommerce integration. As documented, when logged in as an existing subscriber, the opt-in checkbox does not show up at checkout. This is by design to prevent display redundancy for customers who are already subscribed. The checkbox is intended to appear for new or guest users who have not yet subscribed.

If you are concerned about registered users re-subscribing or updating their subscription status, you would need to consider custom solutions or manual adjustments, as the default functionality might not cater to this particular use case.

Should you find that the checkbox is missing in scenarios where it should be displayed, such as with new or guest users, you may need to investigate potential conflicts with other plugins or themes as these could be interfering with the correct display of the checkbox .

If needed, you could also consider custom implementations to alter checkbox visibility and behavior, as described in a separate guide for filtering the newsletter field during checkout. This guide explains how to create a function that controls the HTML of the opt-in checkbox, allowing developers to modify the checkbox’s appearance and behavior.

To ensure that repeat customers can manage their subscription preferences, you might create a custom function that allows logged-in users to change their subscription status from their account page. However, implementing such functionality would require additional custom coding and possibly the help of a developer with experience in customizing WooCommerce and Mailchimp integrations.

In the meantime, for any further technical support or potential bug reports, it is recommended to reach out directly via the Mailchimp for WooCommerce GitHub page .

Hi! We are sorry you are not having the best time with plugin. Lets get you squared away – You mentioned you already attempted to deactivate and do some manual removal, but, lets also try

To deactivate webhooks for Mailchimp for WooCommerce, this way:

    1. Access your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the?Plugins?tab.
    2. Locate the?Mailchimp for WooCommerce?plugin, click?Deactivate?to disable the plugin without removing it. This will stop all associated webhooks and syncing processes between WooCommerce and Mailchimp.
    3. If needed, you can click the?Delete?link to remove the plugin completely, which will delete any plugin code or tables used in the installation. This action will also remove webhooks related to the Mailchimp plugin. However, keep in mind that unsubscribing, subscribing, or marking customers as transactional will preserve their status even after uninstallation.

If you only want to deactivate webhooks without deactivating the plugin, or for some reason the above method does not work, you can also manually review and remove webhooks from your Mailchimp Audience:

    1. Log in to your Mailchimp account.
    2. Select the Audience you want to disconnect from WooCommerce.
    3. Navigate to “Manage Audience” and then to “Settings”.
    4. Click on “Webhooks” and review the webhooks related to your WooCommerce store.
    5. Remove any unnecessary webhooks that are related to the WooCommerce integration.

Hi! Yes, the Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin does modify the user’s session. It uses cookies to track cart data, which helps ensure that the cart is correctly populated for each shopper. Specifically, cookies like mailchimp_user_email and others are utilized to manage user sessions. These cookies are set to persist for 30 days and can store email addresses for tracking purposes. Additionally, there is an option to disable cookies, but this would affect the functionality around abandoned cart automations for guest users

does this help? Let us know!

    Good morning!

Thanks so much for using the plugin and great question!

The field mailchimp_woocommerce_landing_site in WooCommerce serves as a tracking mechanism to identify the first page that a customer lands on when they interact with your WooCommerce store. This information is used primarily for marketing and analytics purposes, particularly when integrating with Mailchimp. How It Works:

    1. Tracking User Engagement: When a user visits your WooCommerce store, the mailchimp_woocommerce_landing_site field captures the URL of the page they first visit. This allows Mailchimp to understand where the customer started their journey.
    2. Data Utilization:
    • Segmentation and Targeting: By tracking the landing pages, businesses can segment their customer lists based on interests reflected in the pages they visit first. This helps in tailoring marketing campaigns more effectively.
    • Automation Triggers: The landing site data can also trigger specific automations in Mailchimp, such as sending follow-up emails or creating targeted campaigns based on the products or categories customers initially viewed.
    1. Enhanced Customer Insights: By analyzing the landing data, businesses can gain insights into which pages attract more visitors and how those pages convert into sales. This leads to informed decisions regarding marketing strategies and website optimization.

In summary, the mailchimp_woocommerce_landing_site field is a vital component in tracking customer interactions, aiding in personalized marketing efforts, and enhancing the overall eCommerce experience through targeted communications.

Hi! I would try and add the snippet to a staging site prior to your production site – And testing it there.

    Hi Rok!

Thanks so much for your questions!

The plugin interacts with existing WooCommerce cookies by using and potentially modifying them to track cart data and ensure consistent user experiences across sessions. Specifically, it adds its own cookies alongside existing ones rather than simply appending new cookies exclusively. The cookies used can include shopper-related information like email addresses, which are important for tracking abandoned carts and facilitating automations.

Regarding listeners or processes associated with the?add_to_cart?and?added_to_cart?functions, the system does have mechanisms for responding to these actions. Typically, when a product is added to the cart, an event may trigger related workflows, such as sending notifications to Mailchimp for processing abandoned carts, which involves using hooks or custom functions.

    Hopefully this helps!
