Following up on this – is this project still being worked on?

Count me in as someone who’d like to see this. Granted, I know WordPress’s audience is different…but still…it’d be cool. Like right now I’m moving my site between servers, and it’d be nice to type something like

wpsh sqlc < my_database_file.sql
and have it use my wp-config.php settings, etc.

Instead of the clunky
mysql -u whoever -p databasename < my_database_file.sql.

Yay, finally a reply! I know, right? I’m going to be working on some WordPress stuff soon, so maybe I’ll take a stab at it. I hardly have a good enough grasp of the WordPress API to do it very well, though. Maybe if I get something reasonable started, though, I’ll try to take you up on your willingness to pay money to have this ??

…but nothing quite like Features!

Another workaround is to use IETab – https://ietab.mozdev.org.

I use this extension a lot, and it’s nice for being able to stay in Firefox but use IE for problematic sites. I’m going to use it as a workaround to the lightbox/Gears/Firefox 3.0.10.0 issue while I wait for the fix. Better than disabling Gears altogether.
