In reply to: [simpleSAMLphp Authentication] support for mobile apps?Following up on this – is this project still being worked on?
Count me in as someone who’d like to see this. Granted, I know WordPress’s audience is different…but still…it’d be cool. Like right now I’m moving my site between servers, and it’d be nice to type something like
wpsh sqlc < my_database_file.sql
and have it use my wp-config.php settings, etc.Instead of the clunky
mysql -u whoever -p databasename < my_database_file.sql.

In reply to: Is there a WordPress plugin similar to Drupal's Features module?Yay, finally a reply! I know, right? I’m going to be working on some WordPress stuff soon, so maybe I’ll take a stab at it. I hardly have a good enough grasp of the WordPress API to do it very well, though. Maybe if I get something reasonable started, though, I’ll try to take you up on your willingness to pay money to have this ??
I’ll save this URL and post back if anything develops…
Meanwhile, this one seems to be along the same line of thought:
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/migrate-site-settings/ – only the base settings, though…and not sure if it’d actually create a plugin to do the magic.
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/advanced-export-for-wp-wpmu/ – similar concept, but more of an export-import time thing again, don’t think it’d do updating
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/metathesis/ might be a similar concept…
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-migrate/ – getting warmer
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wordpressdeploy/ – soooorta, some of the same ideas, particularly with getting stuff into code and files…but nothing quite like Features!

In reply to: Google Gears making Firefox crash with WordPressAnother workaround is to use IETab – https://ietab.mozdev.org.
I use this extension a lot, and it’s nice for being able to stay in Firefox but use IE for problematic sites. I’m going to use it as a workaround to the lightbox/Gears/Firefox 3.0.10.0 issue while I wait for the fix. Better than disabling Gears altogether.
Hope this helps.
