With firefox, i try to go to https://127.0.0.1/wordpress. The page stays blank, but a new tab opens with the address file:///tmp/zXtoQva_.phtml-1.part and the download of that file begins. The file changes every time, but always ends with .part. This leads me to believe that I didn’t uncompress it correctly. When I uncompressed the wordpress archive, I moved it to /var/www and ran “sudo tar -xzvf wordpress-2.7.1.tar.gz”. firefox properly displays the following: https://127.0.0.1/wordpress/wp-admin/admin and I can log on okay.
