In reply to: Non-Profit Club Dues Membership Plug-inWOW,,, excellently written post.
I am in the same boat as you it seems. I’m setting up a membership/payment form for a running club in the UK.
S2member SEEMED the way to go, and as you outlined above the setup is horrid looking, confusing and cumbersome.
We too will have a rather lengthy registration form (link to photo),,and my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw what happens to the WP dashboard USERS page (but I am fairly certain I can work with that,,re-styling mostly.
What gets me the most though,,unless I am wrong, is that a new member needs to pay first via PayPal (on the Member Options page via what is really just a simple PayPal button that I could have made in a minute via PayPal itself),,,then fill out our registration form,, this seems backwards to me,,, anyone else experience this/agree???
The advantage of S2 is though,,that all the work of collecting our registration form data is in fact put into the USers profile,,,and we want/need that (such as Emergency Contact info).
Anyway,, so I am thinking/working/looking for an alternative to S2,,, wondering how you proceeded and what you used,,, or are you still working at it?
Cheers, Kevin LoganBad experience as well with update. Updating 2.0.40 to 2.0.57,,, WordPress 3.81.
The update caused my LightBox (jQuery ColorBox) to stop working, and my menu.
Didn’t investigate any further, resorted to backup of the website and rolled backed the NextGen update,,all fine of course WITHOUT the update.
Any ideas what casued the problem with the NextGen Update??Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Photo Gallery, Sliders, Proofing and Themes - NextGEN Gallery] DISABLE CacheI’m having the same issue(s). I’m developing a template, and NextGen caching is making me crazy while I work on the development. I need to clear the cache everytime I upload a revision of the template php pages. Can the cache be disabled during development/gallery editing? Photocrati, you seem to have directed shmk away from this forum,,, did you find an answer & post the solution somewhere OUTSIDE this forum,,where the question was originally posted?
NextGen V2.0.40, WordPress Version 3.8.1, No caching plugins
Thanks,

In reply to: [WOW Slider] WowSlider causing Jquery Error after WP 3.5.1 updateYou’re right. SOrry. It’s working perfectly.
Thanks much, KevinNever mind, I found the problem,,and had NOTHING to do Better WP Security. OF all things it was an EU Cookie Law Compliance plugin by zafrira. How such a little plugin could cause trouble,,well, and here I was messing around with htaccess, wp-config,,blah blah.
Anyway, sorry for the noise.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [WOW Slider] WowSlider causing Jquery Error after WP 3.5.1 updateThanks for the quick reply. I’ve looked at the jQuery Migration plugin (haven’t tested it yet admittedly) and my gut reaction is to avoid it. It’s an issue of “what exactly is it doing” and not knowing what ramifications it may have elsewhere in my site.
That said, any ETA of when Wowslider might be updated to deal with jQuery 1.9, even ballpark, days?, weeks?, months?

In reply to: [Automatic Sign Out For Inactivity] Can't get working in 3.5Humble apologies for my prev 2 posts. If I could I would delete them. I’ve realized that the site I am working on has a clock (server time UTC) on it, and there was an AJAX refresh turned on (30 seconds),,,, SO, I’ve turned that off,,and the plugin is working JUST FINE ??
Amateur mistake on my part!!!! I was simply shooting from the hip and my aim was way off!!!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Automatic Sign Out For Inactivity] Can't get working in 3.5I somewhat take back what I previously posted. I’ve realized the logout & redirect only occur with the WP backend dashboard. Wouldn’t it make sense to have the logout & redirect occur also with the frontend? Maybe it’s just me? Anyway, still a great idea. Cheers, Kevin

In reply to: [bbPress Search Widget] [Plugin: bbPress Search Widget] Short CodesHi Dave, thanks for the reply. That sounds like a VERY reasonable reason not to bother with short codes.
I too then await bbPress 2.3 ??Cheers & all the best,

In reply to: [bbPress Search Widget] [Plugin: bbPress Search Widget] Short CodesWondering why this post is marked “resolved”? Won’t it be resolved when there IS a shortcode available?
I’d love if there was a shortcode, so I could place your plugin in my template(s) easily.
Seems like a good plugin though. Cheers
