You may be right about GoDaddy, but then how are so many people able to send contact forms perfectly fine?
So many people AREN’T sending emails perfectly fine. This has been an ongoing problem with many of our clients’ email notifications for a couple of years now. We use the Udesign and Avada themes primarily and the problem is the same regardless.
We used to use Contact Form 7 (CF7) for all forms, but an update to 5.0 is when the problem began. After waiting for a fix for several weeks, that never came, we finally began switching all of our sites to Gravity forms thinking it was a CF7 problem. However, we began having the same issues with it.
Every tech support we talked to told us to use SMTP, but trying to get that information from the customer is a big problem and then they change their email password.
In many cases, we would get it all working and a few weeks later, it would quit again, but the customers’ email password wasn’t changed.
I’ve contacted every kind of tech support possible and still cannot get a decent answer or a suggested fix. They all keep saying things like “Everything is fine on our end” and pointing fingers at each other. It has been one big vicious circle.
If you keep searching, you will see that tons of other people are having the same kinds of issues and have been for a long time. Believe me, you are not alone. Lol!
Below are some things I have been told affect either CF7 or WP SMTP. Please keep in mind that I am not a server tech. The fact is, I don’t really understand these things, but have been told that these things need to be checked. Perhaps they might help you figure it out.
* Some settings in the WP Cerber plugin block CF7 from sending. I have not found a way to configure that plugin so that it works, but I only just found that it causes a problem today.
* The mail() function is disabled by default on some servers.
* Mod Security is blocking notifications from sending out in some cases. After hammering out these issue on a current client’s site, a support tech discovered that the remote email server was rejecting the email notifications.
Here is the conversation I had with that tech guy where the site is hosted:
[Jason K] As of now you are getting: SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 550 Rejected by header based Anti-Spoofing policy: https://community.mimecast.com/docs/DOC-1369#550
[Jason K] So that looks like they would have to setup something with the third party mail server that they have.
[Jason K] So they would have to setup a policy with your server’s IP to be allowed, and that should fix the issues.
I am working on this now. It will be interesting to see if they are using GoDaddy or Office 365.
It is interesting to note that I have experienced the exact same blow-off responses regarding this same issue from GoDaddy that others have mentioned in this thread.
I will let you know what I have found, but this is the closest I have gotten to an answer so far. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Lol!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] ?? The Events Calendar 4.6.24We have been using The Events Calendar for a couple of years with no problems. Suddenly it has started running “something” that does’t stop. The only way I knew something was happening was that my backup plugin (backup buddy) was registering it. Backup Buddy has a dashboard widget that counts how many edits you’ve made since your last backup. When I logged into my site, I saw that it showed over 10,000 edits. I performed a a backup and then watched as it counted up from zero at a rate of at least 1 edit per second.
So, I disabled all of my plugins and discovered that, through a process of elimination, The Events Calendar is the plugin that was causing it.
All of my programs are up-to-date. I’ve tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling a fresh one. Nothing I’ve tried is working.
So, I only have so many days before I have to find a new calendar plugin. It would be really nice to get support on this immediately.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WC Fields Factory] Option labels not showingI can’t get your plugin to work correctly. Also it is in table format which is unattractive and uses too much space. It’s been more than three days since I first asked for help and I’ve heard nothing from you. I can’t wait for you to respond and fix the plugin. I am on a deadline. I have to move on to another plugin.

I can’t confirm yet. I haven’t tried it. I’m having another issue that may be causing the malware issue. I’ve asked for help on it too.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Problems with too many variations causing out of stock errorOkay, final update.
After updating my theme’s outdated templates, I removed Mike Jolley’s temporary fix and the problem is resolved. Yay!!
Updating my theme’s files did fix the problem. Here is a link to woocommerce’s post that explained how to do it: https://docs.woothemes.com/document/fix-outdated-templates-woocommerce/
Thanks Bassscape for connecting me to other’s with the same issue which led to Mike’s posts and thanks to Mike for taking the time to write the posts.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Problems with too many variations causing out of stock errorOkay, weighing back in to update my post.
I have not yet updated my outdated template files, but I did find this post by Mike Jolley. His suggestion provided a temporary fix which has solved the problem for now. (Thanks Mike) Read his post here:

I am still going to update my outdated theme files and then I’ll try removing Mike’s fix to see if updating the template file makes it work with WooCommerce’s newest update.
I’ll update my post when I get it done.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Problems with too many variations causing out of stock errorHi Mike, I just checked the meta data for the _stock_status and it is showing the value “instock”, so that is not the issue. Thanks for weighing in though. If you have any other suggestions, I’d love to hear them.
Bassscape, thank you for connecting my post with others who are having the same issue. I’m watching those now to see if someone posts a way to resolve the issue. It’s good to know I’m not the only one.
WordPress, Avada (my theme name) and WooCommerce all issued updates at the same time and that’s when the problem began. Before that, all was well.
I did notice that after the updates, there is now a message generated by the WooCommerce plugin that is saying that my theme has outdated template files. See message below:
Your theme (Avada) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. You can see which files are affected from the system status page. If in doubt, check with the author of the theme.
Here are the two .php files that the WooCommerce system status is pointing fingers at:
- Avada/woocommerce/content-product.php version 1.6.4 is out of date. The core version is 2.4.0
- Avada/woocommerce/single-product/add-to-cart/variable.php version 2.3.0 is out of date. The core version is 2.4.0
(Mike, I did see your thread that discusses this outdated template files issue as well).
I did ask the Avada theme developer if that could be causing the problem with the “Out of Stock” error and all they did was send me a link to explain how to update the template files. They did not verify if it was causing the problem. So, I guess that is my next step.
I sure hope that fixes the issue so I can get on with building my site. I’ll update this post after I give it a try.
