In reply to: Within site WP Installation ProblemIf you are able to login to dashboard, go to General Settings and ensure that the URLs in
WordPress Address URL
andSite URL
are exactly the same.Try not to use
www
in your URLs. If it doesn’t work, try prefixingwww
. Whatever you do, try to do it uniformly in both the fields.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Logging In- If you are using chrome browser, try to open in incognitio mode using CNTRL + SHIFT + N
- Try to Open your siteurl/wp-admin in that browser and see if the problem still persists.
You can even try to open in firefox or IE and see if the problem persists.
I am suggesting this because I think your current browser is caching.

In reply to: Within site WP Installation Problem- Try to open your database tables using phpMyAdmin from your hosting control panel.
- Go to your latest database that you have created and then look into the table named
wp_options
- Here you will find
siteurl
underoption_name
filed in the very first row. - You can change its corresponding value in
option_value
to the site url of your choice.
Open that url in a new browser and try. These are just some leads for you to get started.
Thanks for your reply. It resolves my query.

In reply to: [BuddyPress Links] Getting the following error with this plugin! You’re right @mrmaz. Its an annoying change. For instance, one of my fav plugin was Database Browser by Chris Taylor. It saves me several trips to PhpMyAdmin for any database related works. With this plugin, I can check the tables right in the admin panel. Today suddenly it started showing up errors related to wpdb -> prepare() – never has it happened so far.
I guess, WP guys need to throw some alert or something to plugin authors well in advance of releasing their own update. Doing that may save the plugin users a lot.
Btw, thanks for responding early. We will wait for your update.

In reply to: [BuddyPress Links] Getting the following error with this plugin!I have disabled the BP Links plugin. Will wait for the plugin author’s update on this. Interestingly, even Buddypress plugin was also broken and they too had an update instantly and it got rectified but BP links is late to respond. Still waiting…

In reply to: [BuddyPress Group Tags] How to fix cloud links on tag directory? To add to the above problem, the Group Search box appearing in the /tags/mytags also does not work. The Group Search box works fine on the Group Directory. So, it is sure a problem related to url. How do we tackle this? Any clues?
The problem still persists. I guess the theme author has included the code provided by @jlnd in this thread above. I have downloaded the latest version of this plugin but the avatars ain’t getting generated.
I have installed Theme-my-login plugin and interestingly, the avatar displayed in the sidebar by Theme-my-login gives excellent results of fetching the avatar from social networks. But the avatars on the members page still remains blank.
So my conclusion is that the bug is in the theme – not with the wordpress social login plugin.
I am not sure, though, where to find that bug in the theme files. I am using default buddypress theme with buddypress enabled.

In reply to: Random Default Theme for Multi Sites@ipstenu, Yes I’ve made all the random themes available for use on all sites. After I read your reply, I noticed that I did not enable the default Twenty ten. Actually I was right because I did’nt want to include Twenty ten as part of my random theme array. But somehow felt I should enable it. And it did the trick. Once I enabled this particular theme, every new site started getting a random theme from my array on first sign-up. This was good. But I still wonder why I have to enable twenty ten, specially when it was not part of my random array. May be a question to ponder. Thanks for your lead.

In reply to: [P2] [Theme: P2] Blog Post display begins below the sidebar?Yes, shrinking the width worked for me perfectly. Override:hidden didn’t work fully although it managed to cover the gap to a large extent but left some space.

In reply to: MeetUp Group in IndiaI don’t understand why we need a google docs when we can fill-up location details in our own WordPress Profiles.
Even a google docs form can bring the spam. So why not just click your profile and edit the location to a more appropriate one. Like I did in my own case.

In reply to: [Admired] [Theme: Admired] CSS Changes1. Open Theme Editor under Appearance Menu.
2. In the Style.css file, try to find this:#secondary, #tertiary, .left-sidebar #secondary, .left-sidebar #tertiary{ width: 26.7%; max-width: 280px; margin-right: 0px; padding-right: 10px; }
The above code is for your side bar. First reduce
max-width:280px
to some width that you want your sidebar to have, for example: change to 150px. Then, try to find this code again:#content, .left-sidebar #content { width: 69.6%; max-width: 730px; }
This code is for your main content. And now in this code, try to change max-width such that the total of content’s max-width and sidebar’s max-width equals 1010x. In our example, this will change to: 1010-150=860px.
And finally, play around with the width percentage for content so as to suit to your taste.
Use firebug if you are using firefox or InspectElement if you are using Chrome. This makes it easier to play around with css.
Hope you’ll find this useful.
