I am working with my web hosting company to resolve the permissions problem with the WP upload app. Hopefully that will also resolve the current problem.

What I don’t understand is why it was working before the Permalink/.htaccess edit.

I am assuming it is b/c it was working just barely before and any perturbation just magnified the fact that info is missing in the db, as you cite above?

I will let you know when I get the problem resolved or if I need more assistance.

Interesting…. why is that? Meaning: what is the difference?

I have contacted my hosting company to consult with them also, since the 403 error is originating from my web server.

One other thing that may be relevant….

I have never been able to upload an image through the WP Flash/browser app. It always tells me it cannot write to the directory.

The directory it cites is correct. And is set to 777 -R.

However, I can FTP images to the directory with no problem, which is how I have been uploading until now.
