I was able to solve the issues.

A few translations were marked as “fuzzy” so that the system falled back to the original english version. After “unfuzzy” the translations everything works again.

    Thx for the support.

I also tried to change the POT via Loco Translate, which is similiar to PolyLang.

I am not sure why the issue appeared cause I never touched the POT in the first place. Only after updating the plugin the error occured.

    Thanks for your reply.

Even if I change the pot-file directly on the web server in the plugin folder by hand (e.g.

    msgid “Today’s Views”
    msgstr “heutige Aufrufe”)

it only shows the english message not the translated.

That’s odd for me especially that the issue occured after upgrading to the latest version.

Thanks Sanjeev. Indeed it is/was the plugin “Worth The Read” causing the issue.

Disabling it brought back all the tabs.

I already informed the maker of “Worth The Read“.

Deleting the cache doesn’t help – same error. The console shows me:

I guess I figured it out. It seems that the plugin EWWW Image Optimizer caused the problems.

Im already in contact with the dev od teh plugin and he released an update due to some problems with the maria db sql query.

I will have a look if the problems remains or the error disappear.

    Until now everything seems fine.

So I guess we could close the case.

Thx for the outstanding fast support.

    Thx for your reply.

I used the recommended plugin and activated one plugin after the other with the twenty-one theme.

Still the same errors in the log file.

    What else can I do?

    Thanks

Thx for your fast reply again.

Sorry there is no additional information about the mariadb server respectively mysql 5.7

I commented out the mentioned line. After 10 minutes I havent an increase of cpu and/or ram usage of the database server.

    Thx for your fast reply.

I use the MariaDB-Version 10.3.30 on my server.

The records of wp_ewwwio_images is 32416. Is that a too large amount if images?

    Greets and thx again.

Since deactivation of the plugin the site runs fine and fast.

    Thanks for your fast reply.

I forgot to mention that, but the recommended lines are already in my config-file due to I already use pretty permalinks.

Are there any other config values that must be set?

    Thanks agai for your help.

    Greets, Mike

    Hi there,

    same here.

When I activate the feature, the requested URL /example gives me an 404. Same with wp-login-php and /wp-admin/ (as it should).

When I rename the folder of iThemes Security, I’m able to access my standard-login (wp-login.php) and do a login. Then I rename the folder back to its standard name an enable the plugin again, I can deactivate the hide backup-feature.

    Any hints on that?

    Greets
