Yes it will come as a regular update uploaded to the Custom Community Theme Repo here.

You will have Custom Community version 2.0 then.

It will be total rework of Custom Community.

As the codebase got already around 5 years old and many new web techniques are available, this radical cut was urgently needed.

We tried to keep all options possible and improve everything, from theme options logic to HTML, CSS and PHP markup, and many more things.

Am I supposed to do something?

IF YOU want to be a part of the development decisions, then now it’s the time to give us your personal feedback and discuss anything about the new version 2.0 !

Go to APPEARANCE -> WIDGETS and look for the widget areas

1.) the featured image is the right way!

2.) please tryout at least 1000px wide and 320px high

3.) Or simply bigger, but wide enough from ratio to height..

make some tests with other images and play around – it should definetely work..

you could make a child theme and simply overwrite the menu and add your custom HTML there…

BUT before you start a lot of work with that theme, please not it is outdated by now and version 2.0 will come soon!

if you start a new site now i would recommend have a look at the new version 2.0 of the CC coming now:

should be ready in a couple of weeks, the old CC will not be supported further..

buddypress areas, slider, footer options and some other things are not finished yet, but you can get a feeling of whats coming up.

and the stuff that is already there is better than current CC.

complete fresh HTML5 codebase, super lean CSS, all options with live preview in customizer and the theme is truly responsive.. ??

and you got twitter bootstrap 3.0 integrated ?? awesome features too

there should be a place where you can add scripts to the header right?

which theme version are you using?

please update to the latest version if you didnt already..

but also, if you are starting a new site, i would not recommend to use CC theme now, as CC version 2.0 will come out in a couple of weeks.

What can I say, the theme is outdated and buggy on some places!

So it doesnt work like this.

Hope you find some easy workaround, otherwise I can just recommend dont invest too much time with the current CC..

we are working on version 2.0 with all hands already:

maybe have a look at the early beta and play with it?

it is truly responsive, works 100% with live preview in the wp customizer and got twitter bootstrap 3.0 integrated, lean CSS, fresh HTML5 templates and lot more goodies. you cannot compare the old CC at all.

Just we need some more weeks to finish the CC theme, it’s like 60% finished maybe (just a number / feeling)..

if the plugin causes the issue you need to either change the theme or the plugin..

wait a few seconds and then refresh the page.. are the new added widgets gone again?
