In reply to: [Passwords Evolved] Incompatibility with Really Simple SSL during updateNo problem ?? at least there is a functional workaround.
Thanks for looking at it and thanks for the great plugin! I definitely keep using it.
I posted the same thing on their support board, so both parties and anyone facing the same issue has the info available: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/incompatibility-with-really-simple-ssl-during-update/
If it has to be fixed or declared as incompatibility, that’s up to both plugin developers.
It’s 5 days and no response on already disclosed security vulnerability? Not a single word from the development team?
Just a note – after 5 months this issue still persist even in the newest version 6.2.9
Hi @d0153
Please compare pages https://bronies.eu/ (homepage with latest posts, working correctly) and https://bronies.eu/page/2/ (page 2 with older posts, showing no events).
The Events Calendar widget is on the right side of the page.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Widget issue: “There are no upcoming events”Hello, I was away for some time.
I updated The Event Calendar to the latest version (currently 6.1.2.2; running with the latest WordPress version 6.2.2.), but the issue is still there, with the same symptoms.
Oh and… when the “Recreate thumbnails” process is finished, the plugin responds with “Items successfully resized.” instead of something like “Thumbnails successfully created”. But that’s just a small thing.
Hi Nikita,
I used the form and submit the detailed report. Aside from detailed consequences, (and for anyone else here struggling with the same thing), I suppose I found the cause (very probably a bug):
I was uploading the photos from a digital camera, so the file name and its extension are uppercase. Upload via web interface changes the filename extension to lowercase, but when uploading via FTP, the file extension stays the same.
The problem is, that the generated thumbnails are always with the lowercase file extension, so generated thumbnails for these photos are never found and generate error 404.
A temporary workaround is to change the extension of the files to lowercase before upload – it won’t fix all problems with this method (like the warning message mentioned in the first post and strange image browser behavior – as described in the bug report), but eventually, it leads to success.
Hi, thanks for fast response! I figured it out – it was none of the situation you described, just my ctrl-c, ctrl-v mistake:
I copied these links from another place and there was a
data-wpel-link="internal"
inside the links, so it worked as it should. Thanks for your assistance and sorry for the confusion!
Hello,
I tried it again with a gallery of 185 images of a total size of 65 MB (jpeg photos). I suppose that’s an okay size (each photo has less than 500 kB)
I tried to recreate thumbnails by performing the Bulk action “Recreate thumbnail”, but the result is the same – no thumbnails when adding files, no thumbnails when editing the gallery, and no thumbnails when displaying the gallery (big pictures are shown correctly after clicking the “grey square thumbnail”).
The strange thing is that the thumbnail files are created correctly (also the .original folder), but it seems that the plugin just doesn’t know about the thumbnail files.
btw. That warning appeared again when I tried to add these FTP-uploaded photos to a gallery (and despite the fact, that I’ve selected all the photos in the folder, only the first one is added when I try for the first time)
I forgot the specifications:
WordPress: v6.0
Web server: Apache (API version 20120211), PHP: v7.4.30
Plugin version: 4.1.5No caching, or SEO plugins. Polylang, two languages.
For redirection, I use this https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/redirection/ Deactivating it made no difference in the issue described above.
Even worse, the plugin started to mess up with the “rewrite_rules” in “wp_options” table – some of my recent posts permalinks on my site suddenly started to randomly return 404, because of strange rewrite rules being generated.
It’s super-strange when you can see the automatically generated post feed showing the posts overview and when you click the post, you get “404, page not found”. When you look into the database, and search for “rewrite_rules” item in the “wp_options” table (“option_name” column) , you’ll see the problematic post permalink at the very beginning of the “option_value”.
Deactivating the XML Sitemap plugin and re-saving (change to other option, save, change back, save again) the permalink options in WP helped repair this. When the XML Sitemap plugin is reactivated, this mess with random broken permalinks of recent posts came back.
Currently turned off this plugin on my site.
