I had three questions:

1) I need something similar to a dating site – although it isn’t a dating site I will be building. It’s a similar format though because I need people to be able to search for others by location and by criteria. But I don’t need all the usual dating site questions and lovehearts etc.

I was told that all additional functionality is provided by plugins, which is great, but what sort of plugins do I search for? I thought someone might know which is why I asked the question about Buddypress.

2) Do themes have different functionalities or are they just for the look and feel.

3) What search terms should I use to find a set up similar to a dating site.

This hasn’t been answered yet which is why I was asking what type of plugin company might offer this such as Budypress. I mean, I can go and search for “dating site” plugins but I thought there might be a better search term I could use which would get me better results.

So where have I asked simultaneous questions? I asked three questions. From what I have seen, dating site plugins are just that – they are equipped with questions to do with dating and you can’t seem to change them. I am NEW to WP, which is why my third post was asking for more information relating to plugin companies that might offer what I’m looking for. I am experienced in SEO, Pandas, Penguines and the like. I am ok with marketing and other stuff, but I’ve just switched over to WP and am still finding my way around.

Does anyone else have an answer to my questions? What about Buddypress? Im trying to find out how to get a search for people by location and by criteris functionality like dating sites do – but I don’t want the standard questions such as “whats your height?”, eye colour” etc because its not a dating site I want to build. Many thanks if anyone has any ideas about how this can be done.

Its ok I looked at a Youtube video and have sorted it now.

Thanks but it wasnt that. I have to add it as an addon domain to make it a separate site.
