Yes, it was right after downloading a plugin (Contact 7). I found directions somewhere to rename the plugins folder (plugin_old), went back to the site and the white screen was gone. I don’t think the problem was backwpup, just a coincidence that backing up was my next step after the download.

Hello, I just had the same problem. The error message is similar but not exactly as above. Would your instructions still apply? And if so, how should the folder be renamed? I’ve never done this step before!
