In reply to: [Classic Editor] 5.5 Classic Editor Text View / Add Media Not WorkingThank you for the Migrate Helper plugin information. That cured the problem across my entire site. It turns out the SEO Wizard plugin was causing the problem. I literally feel like I can breathe again. Thank you!

In reply to: [Classic Editor] 5.5 Classic Editor Text View / Add Media Not WorkingI’m seeing the same problem with images, and also with the “schedule post” option – the expansion window allowing me to change the date and time does not pop up. Another thing that doesn’t pop up is the settings window when I click the cog when inserting a link – in order to open that link in a new window.
Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for all your help. I’ve done what you’ve asked. Oddly, however, the like buttons are working for me this morning. Not sure why you’re not seeing them! So strange. The blog is really, really, slow this morning, though. I did mention that in the debug contact.
Thanks again.
Kat
Hi Jeremy, I really appreciate your help. I noticed that the “like” button seems to be working on Staff Articles but not admin articles or guest posts. Don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but just an observation.
I deactivated the Missed Schedule plugin, but I don’t see a button to launch on that page you gave me. (Deactivating it alone did nothing, not that you were expecting it to, just FYI.)
I do not know anything about wp-config or php or even what a cron is. Sorry.
Hi Jeremy, the “like” button is being flaky again. It’s working on the article posted yesterday afternoon – https://www.indiesunlimited.com/2016/08/28/tips-for-a-successful-facebook-live-broadcast/
But not on the one posted yesterday morning – https://www.indiesunlimited.com/2016/08/28/how-authors-can-utilise-facebook-live/
Or this morning – https://www.indiesunlimited.com/2016/08/29/childrens-books-featuring-children-with-disabilities-say-you-belong/
Any ideas??
Hi again. I had a chance to check with the guy who set up the site 5 years ago and he said we had too many problems with Jetpack comments, so we stopped using it. It seems to be less slow, which is good. Thanks again.
Hi Jeremy, thanks. I had to hook jetpack up to my personal account, which then spewed about a billion notification emails to me that people had liked posts (which was not good since we are only allowed 500 emails a day from the blog). I was able to turn those notifications off, but would prefer not to have Jetpack linked to my personal account.
I don’t know why it disconnected from whatever we had it hooked up to before – I would love to put it back the way it was previously, but I don’t know what that was. As far as I know, we do have jetpack comments – and as far as the speed is concerned, I was speaking of it from the backend (from the admin screen) when I tried to add information and update a comment, the wheel would turn for about 60 seconds after clicking update. MUCH slower than usual. I have not tried that today, but I will write now since we convert people’s links into book covers on Thursday.
Thanks again for helping me with this.
And actually, now that I’ve done that, anything to do with JetPack (including commenting) is running INCREDIBLY slow. Help, please!
Hi Jeremy, thank you so much for your response. I just did as you directed, and the problem is still there. The new post that went live this morning – https://www.indiesunlimited.com/2016/08/23/finding-a-better-hashtag-the-basics-of-hashtagify/ – also now will allow me to click on LIKE but if I refresh the screen, the like will be gone.
I went into settings of Jetpack and deactivated LIKE and reactivated it, and that made no difference. I would be grateful for any assistance you can provide. Thank you so very much!

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Comments have stopped nestlingI tried the uncheck/check thing and that did nothing. I also reactivated JetPack comments, and they were still not nesting.
I didn’t realize there was a JetPack support forum. Thank you for letting me know. ??

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Comments have stopped nestlingThe comments NOT being nested are the problem, CrouchingBruin. I turned JetPack off so that NEW comments would nest. It doesn’t fix the old comments, which I don’t care about. I only care about comments going forward. I want to go back to using JetPack, but only once whoever broke it fixes it.

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Comments have stopped nestlingIt turned out to be the Jetpack. I turned Jetpack off, and comments now nestle, but people must enter their information each time. Is someone looking at fixing this?

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Comments have stopped nestlingBy the way, it was working fine up until 8/16/2014. You can see it working in one of the comments on this post, here: https://www.indiesunlimited.com/2014/08/15/1001-bad-ideas/
