Hi, is that bug or feature?

In case of feature and you are not going to fix that, I am really worried about the future updates of this plugin and I think it’s best time to look forward better plugin (more serious).

I like idea of supporting plugins or themes requested by users. Is the page-contact.php included in WordPress core? Because we don’t have it on our websites.

Could you please provide name of plugin or theme that adds page-contact.php feature? Also link to your websites with contact form would be appreciated.

you can see Current year field for a second because it’s hidden by JavaScript when the whole page is loaded. It’s part of protection, see:

The ?invisible js-captcha‘ method is based on fact that bots does not have JavaScript on their user-agents.
Extra hidden field is added to comments form.
It is the question about the current year.
If the user visits site, than this field is answered automatically with JavaScript, is hidden by JavaScript and CSS and invisible for the user.
If the spammer will fill year-field incorrectly – the comment will be blocked because it is spam.

Maybe the second part would be enough, but I hope blinking field is still better than captcha or third part server.

Okay, version with fix is waiting to publish in WP repository, I will release it in 4 hours. I used developer tools to override plugin script on your websites and seems it works now.

You can test updated plugin, get it from Github repository. If you have WP 5.5 you can upload zip file and update plugin without uninstalling it first. Tell me if it fixed the issue and I will release the update to everyone.

this is bug not related with WP 5.5. I’ve looked into it and it is caused by consuming event listener by another plugin that we don’t use. Fix will be soon, today.

Version 1.0.5 works fine with WordPress 5.4.2

Hi, it is sad what happened to Titan version and it is quite frustrating I cannot advice this plugin to old users. Probably lot of users switch to Google Captcha which had about 50% success rate on our websites and bother users. So many thanks for picking this fork!

We are using this plugin on our websites where we have 100% success rate and we would notice there is something wrong with the plugin. I had to review every line of code and there was a lot of code improved to satisfy WordPress requirements for new plugins especially for the security aspects. Version 6 for example cleared HTML output and doesn’t use JQuery.

You can ask @webvitalii to maintain it, but until that I am going to keep this plugin working. Of course, without any new features because It works.

Previous plugin was released under GPLv3 license, so what about pushing fork of old version into plugin repository?

Sorry, totally forgot about this post.

Google Captcha V2 seems no longer effective against bots. I’ve switched from another recaptcha plugin to this plugin because of increasing amount of spam, but it’s same.

Now we switched to Anti-spam, not needed to solve Captcha and so far it works 100%.

Same for our website. We’re getting about 3 or 5 spam comments per day.
