Are you using any plugin for opengraph ? If you are then try deactivating it and then check again ….

Yes it is possible but unlike the other one how will you notice as because your link or image do not change color or underline etc . So even if you connect them they will not be noticeable . You have to add some effect also like fade or boundary as the other one did

What is your site address ?

We can upload root directory backup and database backup . That’s the way to recover using a backup if some problem occurs . And then create a user to link install to the backup files with all permissions granted

I mean all files including core wordpress files .

It would be a better idea if you try to backup with the files that you have before you updated and then again try to update
