I’m seeing nothing in the debug log for BLC.
I’ve deactivate and reactivated–BLC has resumed searching for links…
Perhaps I should de-activate and re-activate the plug-in?
Okay, I turned on the debug log. Over a hundred records were instantly generated, but most or all seem to be these (repeated):
[08-Apr-2015 17:10:08] PHP Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/77/3856777/html/wp-includes/functions.php:3495) in /home/content/77/3856777/html/wp-includes/option.php on line 749

I’m not savvy enough to know whether any of these might have anything to do with Link Checker.
thanks
Server load limit is 4.00, current load bounces around but the highest I’ve seen it in watching for 5 minutes is 3.07. Most of the time it’s in the 2’s.
Does the fact the the current load changes constantly mean the process is still working?

In reply to: A single post acting weirdFyi, I figured out what was happening.
I found a directory in the the root with the name net-worth-how-are-you-doing — same as the permalink of the offending file. I have no idea how this directory got there. In that directory was an index file apparently containing the frozen-in-time post. I renamed this directory, and the problem went away.

In reply to: A single post acting weirdMight republishing the post cure the problem? Or editing the permalink?

In reply to: A single post acting weirdI’ve read through that link, thanks. I’m not seeing any remnants of SuperCache in my site’s files.
Looks to me the misbehaving page was generated by SuperCache 29 Sep 2013. It lives on somewhere and is immune to cache clearing I initiate today through W3 Total Cache. Does this make any sense?
What do you think of re-installing SuperCache, clearing caches through it, then uninstalling it? Seems like there should be an easier remedy…

In reply to: A single post acting weirdI may have once used SuperCache–maybe I was at the time this post was current. But that was long ago.

In reply to: A single post acting weirdI use W3 Total Cache not SuperCache, but in any case I’ve both cleared all caches and the page cache several times with no effect.
I’ve taken Devon1080’s advice and ditched WP Super Cache in favor of W3 Total Cache, so never mind for now. Thanks.

In reply to: [AntiVirus] Scanning theme templates just hangsDitto. Manual scan hangs. I use Elegant Themes Magnificent on site Money Counselor. I’ve disabled the plug-in too, and will uninstall soon if no solution.

In reply to: [6Scan Security] [Plugin: 6Scan Security] Warnings persist after manual fixDeactivating all my security tools for 24 hours had no affect on the 6Scan security warnings… they’re still there.

In reply to: [6Scan Security] [Plugin: 6Scan Security] Warnings persist after manual fixNo change for me with respect to the vulnerability warnings. I did see how to dismiss the horizontal bar across every screen, so that’s no longer a annoyance. I don’t believe I want to post an accounting of the other security tools I’m using, but I’ll deactivate them for 24 hours and see if the 6Scan warnings go away.
I appreciate your comments, but I think we’re talking about two different things.
I understood that Platinum SEO does “A”, as explained in my first post.
P-SEO isn’t doing “A”.
My expectation is that, as a ‘business,’ someone from P-SEO will reply and either explain that
1) my understanding of what P-SEO does is incorrect, or
2) I’ve implemented P-SEO improperly, or
3) acknowledge the issue and explain if and when it will be addressed. That’s it. My question and point has nothing to do with the game the SEO community plays interminably with search engines. It’s a matter of customer service between me and P-SEO. I understand Google may well have changed things to outsmart P-SEO. That understanding doesn’t help me with the practical issue described above.
Thanks.
So if Platinum SEO doesn’t do what it claims to do, it’s Google’s fault? Seems like a rather strange way to run a plug-in!
