In reply to: [Google for WooCommerce] Plugin Update crashes WordPress SiteI followed the procedure above, installing the Google Listings and Ads plugin manually, and everything worked fine UNTIL I activated the plugin. Upon activation the Woo Commerce stopped functioning properly, displaying errors and then the site crashed. This was still running the Storefront Theme.
Only deleting the plugin folder via FTP recovered the site. The Issue would appear to be with the plugin itself. I did receive an Admin email describing the crash.
At this point, I think I’ll be content to live without it till there is a full version update and keep my site and online store running.

Have tried a number of configuration adjustments to no avail.
Apparenty the previous developer attempted to customize the plugin code. The developers got back to us and tidied things up “under the hood.”
It seems like someone was trying to edit the core plugin files as the word “reached” is not present in the current version of the plugin. However, we have fixed the issue and everything is working as it meant to.
Once done, clearing the caches was the last step. MUCH better!

Furthermore, deleting the auctions, plugin, and effectively starting over with the free version did not restore bidding function. No bids would be accepted on test auctions.

I have a client with a similar issue. This problem popped up a few days ago. GB 4.3 on WP 4.9.8. He started relentlessly gets “Update Failed” “Save Draft Failed” “Autosave Failed”, “Publishing Failed”… well, you get the idea. The plugin became completely unusable. But just for HIM.
With hair-tearing frustration, I have not been able to, with any combination of Platform, OS, Browser, or device, reproduce the behavior on my system. We’ve been unable to figure out what’s difference in his access that … well, makes a difference.
Since it is my client’s live, working sites, he has disabled Gutenburg utterly and has switched back to the Classic Editor and installed Advanced TinyMCE to increase it’s functionality. So I can’t further test in different environments. I felt he dove in prematurely. Now is hostile to the software and has become, rather understandably, very critical of Gutenburg’s development team, practically on the eve of the WordPress 5 release.

I am able to create persistent buttons if I drop a Shortcode into a CLASSIC EDITOR box in Gutenberg. But if I try to use a MaxButton Blocks in Gutenberg, they drop their content when I navigate away from the editor.
