In reply to: WP import not import site layoutgetting this error now.
Sorry, there has been an error.
File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Twenty-ten menu content vanishedI have deleted all my plugins save for:
The Events Calendar by Shane & Peter, Inc
which does not seem to be able to be removed via FTP and deleting plugins has never worked via the admin panel.
550 Can’t remove directory: Directory not empty
the menu items have not returned, nor do I know if the process will repeat itself. I have put them back manually.

In reply to: "Error saving media attachment.",Thank you very much for your help, and your patience.
now, one last question, how do I change the topic title to resolved?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: "Error saving media attachment.",at the moment from the most recent install, the directory “uploads” does not exist. as of reading your post, I have now created it manually in wp-content and added a media file to it through FTP successfully, though when I look on wordpress under media. it is not displayed.
and no, none of the files i have gotten this error with exist within the folder either.
your final idea, did work. the image is now within the newly created folder.
do I have to keep it set to 777, since it is not secure.

2.)cleared cache, restarted computer just for good measure. problem still persists.
3.)updated flash player, problem persists.
4.) no plugins installed. it’s a clean install.
5.)no plugins installed.
6.)attempted to create file in fireFTP, clicked create and it dissapeared.
7.) tried a very small image, (less than 50 px) problem persists.
8.)not uploading of images at all, invalid.
9.)no custom setting, clean install.
