Sorry I forgot to mention I have a new wp-2.7 install running on the same server under a subdomain and this one can login.

Hmmm I’ve searched around on the forum there have been at least 4 other posts with this same problem. None of them have been resolved? Is this a bug? What can I do to fix it?

I have another wp2.7 blog on this same host with the same LAMP setup and there is no problem accessing the admin site.

While I now feel silly because it is fixed. Can I provide some constructive criticism of the directions.

“Change the two base fields below to include category and tag in them”
is not descriptive enough when the the interface uses the very big Text label, OPTIONAL.

Maybe include the header in the instructions. I was editing the permalink structure itself because I didn’t think I needed to edit the “OPTIONAL” part.

Users don’t read!!! (despite the fact that is how the problem got solved).
