In reply to: Error upgrading from WordPress 3.6 to 3.6.1I don’t speak other languages, and I don’t want to mess up my site nor my installation. In the grand scheme of my entire site, this isn’t a big issue; it’s more of a minor annoyance. ??

In reply to: Error upgrading from WordPress 3.6 to 3.6.1Yes, I tried deactivating all plugins, switching to default theme, etc.
I’m using English and always have. I’m too cautious to install a different locale. Shouldn’t English work? Isn’t it the default version?

In reply to: Error upgrading from WordPress 3.6 to 3.6.1@esmi: I have already been down that road, and it did not solve the issue. Thanks.
[BTW: I’m using nginx so .htaccess does not apply ?? ]Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Error upgrading from WordPress 3.6 to 3.6.1Yes, I tried this too. I really tried (seemingly) everything, which is why I turned to the forums. I am imagining that the next release (3.6.2?) might resolve this. Thanks for the reply.

In reply to: Error upgrading from WordPress 3.6 to 3.6.1I tried flushing W3TC; it would have been disabled anyway while the plugins folder was moved/disabled.
I’m running my own VPS, so there’s not much that my hosting company will do for me.
Thanks for trying. I do appreciate it.

In reply to: Error in WordPress 3.6.1 in spanish!I have this same issue: upgrade from 3.6 -> 3.6.1, the wp-includes/version.php shows:
$wp_version = '3.6.1';
and yet it kicks me back to the new update available. The difference for me is that I’m using the regular English download. I tried all the manual upgrades, and still get the error.Any help is appreciated. Here’s some of my server info:

In reply to: Permalinks broken after 2.6 upgrade – Please Help!FIXED!
1. Upload this file to your wp-includes directory:
https://trac.www.ads-software.com/attachment/ticket/6650/rewrite.php
(easy to save this link as rewrite.php, then upload it: https://trac.www.ads-software.com/attachment/ticket/6650/rewrite.php?format=raw)2. Set permalinks to “Default” and Save it.
3. Set permalinks to “Custom Structure” of your choice and Save it.
(Mine is: /index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/)4. The above fixed it, but I saw some weird errors at the top of each of my pages pointing to wp-includes/plugin.php – so I added a hack:
error_reporting(0);
(put this at the top, just below the opening<?php
tag.That’s it. Please let me know if you have any problems by commenting on my blog here: How To Fix Permalinks In WordPress When All Else Fails

In reply to: Permalinks broken after 2.6 upgrade – Please Help!When setting the permalinks to the “default” – site.com/?p=123 it works. Then I set it back to the custom structure: /index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ and it breaks again. I really would like to have the custom structure working; Google has my site indexed as such. Can anyone help?
