I have a similar problem. Yesterday I was editing my design and then… the white area, where posts goes, disappeared. I only edited style.css and footer.php. I tried with other themes (kubrick and k2) but i had the same problem.
A friend tested my design in his blog (his blog is in other free hosting) and everything works fine.
