This is an issue where you create a post, then change the site timezone settings in General > Settings. It actually affects any WordPress site, not just a site running the P2 theme. It’s more obvious in P2 since the front-page tries to find any newly posted entries.

To fix it you can manually edit the post that is getting repeated to change the time so it’s in the past. We will have a more robust fix for it in a future P2 release.

The other way to avoid it is to set the timezone setting right away when creating the WordPress site (before any posts are created).

What version of P2 are you using? Have you modified the style.css file?

Unordered lists posts or pages should show with bullets in P2, so if you aren’t seeing them it’s probably a CSS issue. Here’s a sample HTML formatting page on the P2 Demo site: https://p2demo.wordpress.com/2008/09/27/layout-test/3/

The theme has a changelog.txt file which you can view after downloading the theme from https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/p2.

This fix is in the next P2 release, submitted this week to www.ads-software.com theme review.

Generally there is one release per quarter (four times a year). I don’t have an exact date…

@zanzaboonda — I cannot repeat this issue, unfortunately. (I tried loading your URL but I get a 500 server error).

Could you try disabling all widgets (move them to Inactive or delete them)? And you said your deactivated all plugins, right?

It sounds like a CSS conflict, to be honest, where something either in the sidebar or in the post content (like the Facebook Like button) is clearing a float and creating a huge space.

We had a similar issue a while ago on WordPress.com with related posts, and it was fixed by adding a clear:left rule to the content that comes just after the post (in that case it was a block of Related Posts).

@zanzaboonda and @tbirdsradio — Could you give us more details on the issue and maybe a screenshot? It’s hard to know how to troubleshoot when we can’t duplicate the same setup.

The following information would be very helpful:

– Version of WordPress you’re running
– P2 version you’re running
– Browser version and OS
– A screenshot of the broken layout

Can you explain this a bit more? P2 doesn’t support featured images (post thumbnails), so you shouldn’t be seeing a Featured Image entry form in the admin UI.

There is a known bug where the Insert to Post link is missing after you upload an image from the front end UI. Is that what you are seeing?

(This will hopefully be fixed in the next release, but for now you can click Media Gallery, then Show next to the image, then Insert to Post.)

Affirmative. No 404 errors reported in Firebug using the “Net” tab to track images loading on the page.

This forum is the correct place to report errors, and thanks for your report.

I’m not able to reproduce the 404 errors running the same setup you mentioned. Both those images load fine in my testing. P2 loads /wp-admin/includes/media.php directly, so the image paths should work fine as defined by default.

@mscappa We are aware that there are several errors that display when debug mode is on (WP_DEBUG set to true in wp-config.php). But, they are minor errors that should not cause white screens of themselves, so I’m guessing it might have been something else in your setup.

Did you try the latest version of P2 after you updated all your plugins and debug off?

The minor debug errors will be fixed in the next release.

@peterhol It’s not a universal issue, it only appears when using WordPress multisite. I assume you are using multisite WordPress (network mode)? Otherwise the signup form should use the default WordPress admin UI.

Looks like when using P2 with multisite WordPress the signup form needs some CSS styling, as you said. That will be addressed in the next version—thanks for the report.

Thanks for the Norwegian translation files, Peter. I’ve reported the translation issues, and we’ll try to get that fixed up for the next version.

Mentions are cases where a username is mentioned in a post, with @ syntax. See an example on the P2 demo blog: https://p2demo.wordpress.com/mentions/raanan/

It’s similar to the Twitter @ reply feature.

MariusBancila, you can follow an individual user’s updates by using the RSS feed from their author page. See an example on the P2 Demo site, and note how at the top of the page is an RSS feed for that user’s updates.

Another idea is to use tags for each team or group and follow the tag RSS feed.

At Automattic we use a different technique: each team has its own P2 instance so you only subscribe to the P2 sites you wish to follow.
