Looks okay in Firefox 3, which browser are you using? A general guess would be that the width of #content is too big and doesn’t leave enough room for the sidebar, thus pushing it down. But it looks okay to me and the numbers in the css add up.

This is difficult to answer without knowing the setup that Bluehost is doing. But generally speaking, you won’t be able to easily access the WordPress database (and its posts) unless you’re running the WordPress code on the page that you wish to display a post on.

Not sure what your /blog does, but the main page needs to do the same. It needs to perform a WP database query and display the data that it fetched (in this case the most recent post). If your main page isn’t called from/inside the WP framework, that will be difficult.

What you want to do is most certainly possible with custom PHP code or WP customization, but I wouldn’t even know how to suggest a solution here without having seen your blog code and webpage HTML (which you shouldn’t give out here! Just speaking hypothetically).

If the theme doesn’t have built-in functionality to deal with this (akin to what moshu mentions), you might be able to modify your loop for the non-featured posts to exclude the most recent post. Like this:

The only shift that I see comes from the page length. The Montessori page exceeds the vertical length of 1600×1200 displays, so a scroll bar appears on the right side of all browsers. That will change the page width and center the page differently. The Downloads page fits on one screen, so no scroll bar and no shift.

This is difficult to analyze without having the source code, but the gist seems to be that somewhere in your header file, there’s an incomplete script that refers to the Google webmaster tools. Because the script is incomplete a string that it generates is echoed to the HTML instead and shows up on the page.

Well, this could open Pandora’s Box because it might invalidate the styling *inside* content-box (= calendar contents), but you can try this:

Make a copy of #content-box and rename it. Something like

#content-box-full {
margin-right:0px;
}

Doesn’t really matter where this goes, but right after #content-box sounds good.

Then, in the php file find where it says
<div class=”content-box”> and change it to <div class=”content-box-full”>.

Upload the php and css and shift-reload the page (use shift to reload the entire page, other the cached stylesheet will most likely be used).

That should work.

You’ll need create a new entry in your stylesheet and place the calendar in there.

Make a copy of

#content-box {
margin-right:340px;
}

and change the margin-right to a lower value (or zero it out). Then change the php file so that the calendar uses that div style.

You can mix and match, of course. If you check out https://www.worch.com/?page_id=59 for example, there’s a div class for the upper text that spans the entire page, and below that there’s two additional divs to create a conventional post and sidebar area.

Depends on how your theme generates the navbar. If it uses wp_list_pages() to generate the links you actually do have two pages with the same name somewhere in WP. Delete one. Or use “&exclude=” to not list the pageID of the home page that you don’t want to show up.
If the navbar hardcodes the links to your pages, there’s probably an extra link named “Home” that goes to the root of your page. Change that one.

All of this is most likely to happen in header.php, btw.

I think the problem might be a missing </div> in the source code to close each blog entry. Your posts are nested inside one another, and this one right here keeps getting stacked on top of the previous post:

What’s your blog and what theme are you using? The date/time stamps almost certainly come from a call to the_time(), maybe you’re not looking in the right place.

Try this:

You don’t need the limit posts plugin for that, of course.

Then you just add a mini Loop to query your latest posts like this:

And of course the page template .php needs to exist on your webserver when you enter the Write/Manage page mode.
