In reply to: Polaroid picture captionActually, this polaroids theme is free: https://www.webdesignuk.org.uk/polaroids/
Sarah, I sent you a reply to your e-mail that explains how it is done. The title under the polaroid is simply the title of the underlying post.

In reply to: [Polaroids] alignmetn of polaroidsBrilliant, that worked. Thanks very much.

In reply to: [Polaroids] alignmetn of polaroidsFrom what I can tell, it is only Safari and Chrome that is causing the issue. In IE on Windows the alignment is fine (although only the first one has the date).
Small price for such a nice theme!

In reply to: [Polaroids] alignmetn of polaroidsI’ve tried it in Safari for Mac, Chrome for Mac, and Mobile Safari.
This is what it looks like:

In reply to: Dreamplace theme not showing any styleThis is strange. But that gave me the clue! I changed the permissions on the files, but not the folder itself. I change them folder permissions for 755 and it worked! Feel kinda foolish…
Jeremy, thank you very much for helping in this.

In reply to: Dreamplace theme not showing any styleIndeed, the others do work. I’ve tried the Default and Classic themes as well as Dilectio.

In reply to: Dreamplace theme not showing any styleJeremy, thanks for the reply. I’ve have read the page over, but I’m not finding anything that points to where the problem may lie.
I have tried up loading on two separate computers. First on a Mac using Cyberduck, then on a PC using CPanel and extracting on the server.
I downloaded a fresh copy each time and I deleted the old files on the server before trying the second upload. I even completely removed and then re-installed WordPress 2.6.1. I even performed a downgrade to 2.6, just is case the theme broke in 2.6.1. I also opened up all the permissions to the theme files to 777. Still no joy.

In reply to: issues with a double installation of WordPressYea! I fixed it.
The .htaccess file was being shared by both installs. I created a new one for the second site, and it fixed the theme issues.
As for the 404, I found that it was actually only one category (mechanika) that was the problem. The category was almost idential to the second installs directory name, which was mechaniks. For some reason once I changed the URIs in the wordpress options (pointing them to union), changed the directory name to “union”, and matched this in the .htaccess, it all went right. ??
Cheers!

In reply to: issues with a double installation of WordPressWeirdly enough, that’s exactly what I did . The first first declaration is:
$table_prefix = ‘wp_’The second declaration is:
$table_prefix = ‘ik_’But for some reason the theme form the wp_ blog gets pulled into the ik_ blog and I get the 404 error.
For example, if I go to the second blog url (https://www.hecate.ca/mechanik/) the first page looks good, but if I click, for example, the Mechanika topic it leads me to the correct URL (https://www.hecate.ca/mechanik/category/mechanika/), but gives the error and wrong theme.

In reply to: issues with a double installation of WordPressIt turned out that I had a Page in the original installation set up for https://www.hecate.ca/ik, so I tried moving the new install to https://www.hecate.ca/mechanik. It still gives me the problem…
Still hoping for some advice. ??

In reply to: How can I hide a page ?It’s been a while, so I thought I would refresh this thread…
I’m a beginner with WordPress, and although I get the manual exclusion mentioned by rvblog on 2005-01-12, I was wondering if anyone has found/created a plugin that would allow you to hide pages from the dashboard when creating or editing a page.
Cheers!
