In reply to: [Lara's Google Analytics (GA4)] Update Removed AuthorizationHello @monkeysniffer08,
We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.
Just to clarify, we don’t force auto updates, so a site admin must update the plugin manually, and as soon as the plugin is manually updated, he/she will see the instruction to update to GA4.
As you know, UA data cannot be migrated to the new GA4 properties, so when you update now, you will have around 8 months of historical data (from now till mid next year), and that’s why the decision was taken to upgrade now.
Hello @jrivett,
Glad to hear that it is working now ??
Thanks for your suggestion, and I’ll add it in future versions.

In reply to: [Lara's Google Analytics (GA4)] Google Analytics GA4 SupportHello @cwebart,
Be sure that your client has created a new GA4 property. This should fix the issue.
If you have further questions, please open a new support topic.
Hello @jrivett,
Please be advised that, the widget will not add the tracking codes for logged-in admins.
Log out, and you should see the tracking code added to all pages.
Also, newly created accounts can take up-to 24-48 hours before reporting collected data.

In reply to: [Lara's Google Analytics (GA4)] set up a google tagHello @frans-blok,
The widget will show the numbers given by Google Servers.
Just to be sure, login to your Google Analytics account and compare the numbers for the same reporting period.
From my understanding, the new GA4 using different methods to determine active users/sessions.

In reply to: [Lara's Google Analytics (GA4)] set up a google tagHello @frans-blok,
After step 4 (In the Property column, click GA4 Setup Assistant, then click Get Started under I want to create a new Google Analytics 4 property, then click on Create and Continue.), your migration is completed, and it is safe to skip step 5, as Google seems to skip it for some accounts.
Here is the official documentation for reference :
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9744165?hl=enI have checked your website, and it seems that the plugin installed the required tracking code correctly, and soon, you should start receiving data in the graph.
Please be advised, it might take up to 24 hours, for newly created accounts to collect data from Google servers.
Also, Your old data (from universal analytics), will not be transferred to your new GA4 account, and Google offered no way for this migration to happen.

In reply to: [Lara's Google Analytics (GA4)] Is this plugin dead?Hello @neikoloves,
They disabled adding UA to existing properties, but you should still be able to create “new” UA properties, using the “advanced options”, as discussed before.
And yes, it is a big mess, but hopefully it will all get sorted out ??

In reply to: [Lara's Google Analytics (GA4)] Is this plugin dead?Hello @neikoloves,
First, the project is not dead, we are here to support our users.
For now, accessing GA4 properties/streams is not possible, as the API is still in beta :
https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/config/admin/v1
Warning: This is an early preview version of the API and is subject to change. While we will try to notify you of upcoming changes, you should expect to encounter breaking changes before the APIs are publicly released.
As soon as Google releases the final version of their API, we will add GA4 to the widget.
For now, you can create new properties with both “GA4” and “UA” tracking codes, which will be visible in the widget.
When you create a property, click on “Show Advanced Options” and click on “Create a Universal Analytics Property”.
Please be advised, this will not work for already created properties, as you need to create a new property, to have the “advanced options”.
As for “Google Site Kit”, its their own system and API, they know what will be in the final release, we don’t.
Also, it is not our fault that Google decided to announce the deprecation of V3, without a finalized, released API for GA4.
With that said, and by popular demand, we are trying to release a compatible version very soon (using the 1st version of the current beta API).
I hope it is clear now.
