Oops. 1.6.3 for Simple Tags. I just found an update to 1.6.4, and removed Simple Tagging.

I am getting lost as to what I am doing too!!! Here is what I did…

I originally added those 2 lines to my root directory at end-of-silence.org. After you pointed out that this was wrong, I logged into my godaddy account, went to my hosting account and added atheist.nu. Previously I only had the domain forward to https://www.end-of-silence.org and it wasn’t in my hosting account list. I then added a .htaccess file to the file manager with those 2 lines.

It probably doesn’t help that I am having to navigate through godaddy. Their site is horrible!

I had hoped that this would be an easy forwarding problem, but it appears much more complex. Seeing that Google just announced we can submit for re-indexing, I may just live with all the 404s for now.

It is funny that all my blog permalinks seem to properly forward, but images and tags do not.

Now everything is slow as molasses!

I took out the 2 lines from my end-of-silence.org .htaccess file, and removed atheist.nu hosting just in case I screwed that up.

My entries seem to hang up just after the post loads…

Any suggestions? Cheers!

Both domains are hosted in the same account. There is no other root directory, or so I think…

OK, so I added atheist.nu as another hosting domain, and added a new .htaccess file with the above info…

Do I add atheist.nu to my hosting account? I guess with deluxe hosting I can add a few domains… I will try adding it and see if there is a file manager option for it.

Found it! Forgot to show hidden files in cyberduck!

Sorry to be daft, but this process is new for me. I added the value to the file, but no go so far. I will give it a few hours to see if it takes a while to have effect.

it loads just fine…

So, how do I get all my content to make that change?

I tried to switch the domain references(atheist.nu to end-of-silence.org for instance) but it didn’t seem to amend anything in my media library. It only changed any reference is my postings.

Maybe I will have to reference each full permalink and have “search & replace” change each one at a time…

Last bump. Is there anyone that knows why my images are holding onto their previous permalinks, and why I can’t change them to my new domain?
And/or, how to have them auto forward from my old domain name to the new one?

I have been messing around in the media library, and I can’t seem to change the image URL to my new domain manually even after saving. It seems to revert back to the old domain.

I changed all my posts manually so the images show in the post, but if you click on the image, it keeps wanting to go to the old domain. How the heck do I change the image URL in the media library? It seems so easy…Must be missing something simple?

Bump. Any ideas?

I am assuming that in order to have the site show as end-of-silence.org without /blog added to the end, I will need to move my wordpress install to /. Is that correct, or will that mess up things? I want to careful not to mess with all my existing content and pages and will want them to still be found via searches, but that goes without saying!

Probably. I can’t remember. The footer has “Web statistics report produced by: analog 6.0 / Report Magic 2.21”. I am hosted by Godaddy.

I thought feedburner was accurate, but I will give Clicky a try. The free version to start…
