In reply to: Is there a weather plugin for UK weather?Jeremiah’s weather plugin works for me. You can find codes for UK locations here.
My site is getting the weather for Newcastle upon Tyne quite successfully…Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: One Click Link List AddingGo to “Add Link” in admin and scroll to the bottom. You’ll find a “Link This” bookmarklet that you can drag to your toolbar. The description says it only works in Mozilla or Netscape, but I’ve just used it on IE6….

In reply to: calling javascript experts!Try giving each picture a different “name” attribue. I’ve had something similar working with a script much like yours, and it wasn’t a big problem.
You also have two functions on the page with the same name, which is possibly a problem. Try changing the function names to img1Refresh and img2Refresh, and the names to “webcam_picture1” and “webcam_picture2”. Also remember to change the document.images[“webcam_picture”] bit in each script by adding the appropriate number.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: what is a good photo plugin?I’ve been using Exhibit 1.1d (https://www.asymptomatic.net/wp-hacks), which does the thumbnails and a simple pop-up of the image. You can see some examples here: https://lcb.me.uk/index.php?cat=14.

In reply to: simple problem? – /html parse errorWhat’s on the lines immediately before that?
“Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/adrienne/public_html/blog/index.php on line 158”
is probably being caused by something before that actual line….Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Parse error: parse error, unexpected ‘<‘…Most likely cause is an error on the line above. Look for a missing >, or maybe a missing ” or ‘ that makes the > look like it’s part of a string rather than closing a tag.

In reply to: RSS Feed ProblemsMight be an issue with NewsGator, perhaps? I just checked using RssReader (https://www.rssreader.com/) and it connected to the feed without any trouble at all….

In reply to: Critique3) GMT an hour behind? If you’re in the UK, we are currently on British Summer Time, which is GMT+1. WP correctly shows the GMT time, not the BST time. You need to manually enter the 1 hour offset under “Times in the weblog should differ by”
4) I know what you mean about that. I had a general category (but not called that in my MT installation. After importing, I deleted my old general category (which moved all its posts into the WP “General” category), then renamed the WP Category to match the old name. I’d rather having the option to designate any category as the default, but this worked fine for me…Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Specific category stylesI did something similar to make my own comments show up differently from those made by visitors.
The thing you need is more along the lines of
if ($cat == 24)
(Not guaranteeing that will work, but it’s closer)
What you have sets $cat to 24 and returns a true value because it’s managed to do it successfully. The double = compares the values….Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Install New SmiliesYou mean how to tell WP to replace  (or whatever) with a new smilie?
Try vars.php, which lives in the wp-includes directory inside your main wordpress installation.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Admin Bar PluginVery nice – thanks.
Just a heads up, though – the download link on the site is pointing to:
https://www.mattread/f/admin-bar.zip
which isn’t going to work too well…..Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Problems with installation (wp-config-sample.php)After editing the wp-config-sample.php file, you need to rename it to wp-config.php, then upload it to your site.
Once you’ve done that, the installation should work…Forum: Your WordPress
