In reply to: [Mesmerize] Call to Action Buttons 1 and 2 lose informationInstalled a new different website, same problem. Surprising that nobody else has this problem. How can I get my new text on the button to stick? It always reverts to the default text. This is a front page issue.

In reply to: [Mesmerize] Call to Action Buttons 1 and 2 lose informationYes, and I also just upgraded to FREE 1.6.62. Using PLUGIN ( 1.6.97)
Maybe the new upgrade will work. I just changed the button to “Ionut” for the heck of it for now. ?? I expect it will disappear as well, but don’t worry, I’ll remove it if it doesn’t go away. Thanks again!

In reply to: [jQuery T(-) Countdown Widget] Design don't changeI can’t tell. The only plugin that mentions a cache is the Wordfence plugin. I had to add extra security because others were trying too hard to hack in. I did disable it temporarily after your post, and it made no difference.
I haven’t added any new plugins, and the countdown was working fine with the ones I’ve had, until now.
How would I clear the website cache?
Thank you.

In reply to: [jQuery T(-) Countdown Widget] Design don't changeI’m having the same problem, I think. I have lost graphics, but the numerals still show.

I tried the force load css option, and tried the shortcode in the the widget spot using a text widget, and that just showed up as text on the above page, so I removed it.
I’m not sure when this started happening. The last time I checked the site was a couple of months ago.

In reply to: RSS Feed- Feedburner feed not found, 404 errorWell, I learned a few things today. Blog RSS’s are meant for posts. I guess I missed that in the small print.
I just found the right plugin, and now my pages are all going into the feed. The free plugin I used is called: RSS Includes Pages. It is free, and available via wordpress’s plugin uploads. It is automatic. If you want to see how it works, you can take a look at the site I was working on: https://laser-book.com Now, instead of a useless blank post, I actually have an RSS feed for my “all-page/no-post” website. Yay.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: RSS Feed- Feedburner feed not found, 404 errorI ran into the same problem. I got rid of all the white lines in the .php files in the theme folder. I deactivated all my plugins. I screwed around with various things all afternoon, trying not to get frustrated. All the threads here, I thought, then… I ran into this one:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/rss-feed-page-not-found-4
It turns out that I needed to have a post, so I made a blank one. Now the RSS works. See, my site is made up of pages, not posts. Now I have an RSS feed with nothing on it.
If you know about this basic “thing”, I guess I look stupid. But I really had no way of knowing. Is there any way to have a feed for my pages? Or is that just not reasonable?

In reply to: How to keep wordpress static homepage full url ?OK, I have an update. A couple of important things:
1. Settings > static page radio button chosen > but no page selected.
2. Redirection plugin took what I put in, and changed it to:“Source URL” : /
“Target URL” : https://mydomain.com/page_I_want_to_see_the_Full_URL_InEverything appears to be working fine, and I see the complete URL in the address bar.
Regarding Google, it’s a mystery why they prefer the domain only rather than the full URL sometimes, but they just do. ::-)
The switch doesn’t seem to effect Google rankings. One just replaces the other in the same spot, from what I’ve seen.

In reply to: How to keep wordpress static homepage full url ?The Page Links To plugin did not do the job for me, but since I already had the “Redirection” plugin: https://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/redirection/
I tried a couple things, and it looks like this worked: I deleted the blank Home page, then I went to Redirection and I redirected: https://mydomain.com to: http:mydomain.com/Static_page_I_want_to_see_the_Full_URL_In/
It looks like its working so far. If you want to take a look, it’s at:

Removed the widget_text, as advised.

In reply to: restoring databaseOh come on, someone has a clue. I’ve checked the manual and I can’t find it. I know it has to do with dis-similar databases, but where is it in the manual?

In reply to: mysql database restored but wordpress acting like new instalI had the exact same problem with a site at Verio, and I used “bigdump” I got at: https://www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php
It wouldn’t transfer my edited .sql file, where I had updated the links, but it did transfer my original sql.gz file.Until then, all I got was a blank wordpress blog. It is the limitation on import size that apparently seems to stop the whole thing from getting through. What is puzzling is how I got a completely perfect blank wordpress site until then.
Now I am trying to do the same thing on GoDaddy’s servers. I can’t get it to work for some reason. It’s my headache of the day. I get a syntax error.
