In reply to: New installation-all text in admin panelchanged from free hosting to economy hosting on Godaddy, now the admin is working like on the other sites I have.
The widgets said they needed javascript in the free hosting, guess they block javascript on free hosting so we can’t get rid of the ads….
No, the ads are above everything, like a header to your page.

In reply to: Error in admin panel: "This widget requires JavaScript."Ok, update! I set up the economy hosting, next step up from the free hosting, and now it works just fine!
I guess they disable javascript on the free hosting, most likely to keep us from disabling the ads at the top….
I also use Godaddy, and when I got a new domain the other day, I used the free hosting that has the ads at the top, and upon manually installing WP, I had an admin panel all in text, some of the widgets said they needed Javascript, only html buttons.
So I did a little searching, cleared the cache for the browser, checked to see if java was enabled in the browser (it was!), and found nothing about java being disabled in the free hosting (in Godaddy help articles, but then again, we all know how “helpful” Godaddy help is!). But I decided since the economy hosting was so cheap, I would try it, as I already had another site working just fine with the economy hosting. Set up the economy hosting, and voila! now I have the regular admin working just fine!
Java must be disabled in the free hosting so ppl won’t try to get rid of the ads is my best guess….

In reply to: Error in admin panel: "This widget requires JavaScript."Originally used Firefox, same thing happens first time I load admin into Chrome too. Funny thing is, the site showed fine in both browsers before I deleted then reinstalled WP. Now, I get a white screen on the site page, but the admin screen is still all text with the widget errors. Clearing cache makes no difference.
The other funny thing is that I have another site built with WP hosted with same company, and it works fine! The only difference is that I pay for the hosting on the other site, but this one is the free one that has ads at the top. Guess I should check to see if it also comes with Java blocked….
