I think I want the SECOND option — I want https://theinfluenceofteachers.wordpress.com to run off its own domain name. I want that domain name to be https://theinfluenceofteachers.com.

I basically just want to DROP the single word ‘WordPress’ from that URL, and everything would be fine.

Can you help me with this?

When I take off the re-direct and I map the domain, then I go to https://theinfluenceofteachers.com, it just looks like a crashed site with a search bar. It doesn’t look like https://theinfluenceofteachers.wordpress.com at all.

Anything else I could be screwing up? (I’m sure there is lots.)

Basically I want to take this website and all the content on it:

… and rename it:

https://theinfluenceofteachers.com/

If that means “run it off wordpress.com,” then yes.

If that means “self-hosting,” then I mean that.

I use CPanel to redirect and manage. Could that be the issue?

Clearly I am confused. When I turn off re-direction, it appears the site https://influenceofteachers.com isn’t working at all.

I clearly messed something up here, but I don’t know what.

Any other ideas it could be? Anything?

I did that — now what? Just copy over all the pages to self-hosted?

Yea, the www.ads-software.com seems to be SELF-hosted, and the wordpress.com is hosted by WordPress — so, is there any way to change the domain?

Thank you, Esmi. Right now it looks like this. Any idea what’s messed up in the code? I removed a link called “SHOP,” which was to the right of “ABOUT US,” at the end of yesterday. I’d like to eventually put it back but I’m clearly screwing something up in the code.

For now I blew it out. Do you know what’s coding it though? Is it site.css? (I apologize for not having Firebug; it’s been hard for me to download for some reason.) The words were smushing together (“About Us” and “Shop”) so it seemed like something in the padding or width, but I couldn’t figure it out.

Second dumb question: if I put the file in /themes/learningmatters/css (replacing the current style.css that’s in there), would that tank my site? How would I go about moving and/or deleting it properly?

One stupid question, though: in what file would I find this body declaration? I’m not seeing it in Style.CSS or Site.CSS. Is there somewhere else I should look?

If anyone knows how to get “theme” so that I can choose from others — or knows how to get “Appearance —> Editor” back, that would be awesome.

I fixed that up. Promo Player was just a plug-in to create a main engagement area.

I am an administrator on the site, yes. It does not seem to be part of a network WordPress installation.

It feels as though it has something to do with recently updating it … could that be accurate?
