Thank you so much for the clarification Yakir ?? That is what I had thought, but just wanted to know for certain. Onward Elementor!!! ??
but when I try to drag an element it just does not do anything. There is just a crossed out stop sign and it does not drop.
To clarify, you must first add a Section to the page and then you can drag and drop an element to one of the columns that are now in the Section.
Cheers!
LyleWhat kind of content are you adding to those Elementor pages that give you the error? One common issue is having a shortcode on the page from a plugin that may be in conflict with Elementor.
Also, are you using the latest version of Elementor, 0.9.3?
What are the other plugins you have activated? There are some know compatibility issues that the Elementor folks are working on.Cheers!

The content is stored in the database in the _posts table. Elementor is one of the very few page builders that does not hold your content “hostage”. If/when you deactivate or delete the plugin for whatever reason, your content will still be there in the WP Editor, albeit without any of the formatting or styling that was provided by Elementor. It should also be noted, unlike a lot of page builders, Elementor does not leave behind any shortcodes.
One of the very best ways to try out Elementor (along with any other WP theme/plugin) is set up a local server on your computer where you can test, prod and poke to your hearts content without worrying about breaking anything; that is what I have always done ??

What I have found that works the best, with no issues, is to place the WPSP shortcode into an Elementor WP Text widget.

In reply to: [Elementor Website Builder - More Than Just a Page Builder] Accordion StylingHi Dawn,
Yes, that is the way the Accordion element is supposed to work.
For the behavior you want, use the Toggle element ??

Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Installation into subfolder – CPanelAdditionally, you could also create a sub domain. Depends what you want to do with the site.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Installation into subfolder – CPanelWhen you add a site into a directory, you have to either create an Addon Domain, via cPanel, or use the domain that is associated with the root directory (the domain you set up the hosting with) plus the directory. For the last case, this would be how to get it:
https://my-hosting-account-domain/directory-name
To clarify, as an example, the domain you set up the hosting with is
mydomain.com
and you place the WP install into a directory namedwordpress
, then you would access the site with:https://mydomain.com/wordpress
and the admin login withhttps://mydomain.com/wordpress/wp-admin
For the first case, that is an Addon domain, have a look through the GoDaddy help on that topic:

Lylebut the import results in a message “Invalid file” on the URL …/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
I don’t get what you mean with “on the URL …/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php”; there is no URL like this on my system when I am importing a .json export file.
I just successfully did another export/import using 0.9.3 and this time it was a large page, 12 sections and numerous photos (basically, two of the EL templates stacked together). No problems ??
Out of curiosity, what type of content from Elementor are you attempting to export? For my testing, all I had was one row, with an image in one column and then a heading with some text below in the second column. All of that exported and imported correctly for me on a local (XAMPP) test install.
Josiah – where are you attempting to import the .json file to?
When you import an exported file, you need to go to Dashboard > Elementor > My Library > Import Template > select the .json file > Import Now.
I’ve used this numerous times and it works well ?? Perhaps there is a plugin conflict somewhere?

What I do to style the category and archive pages with Elementor is use the WP Show Posts (WPSP) plugin. Note that one is not actually styling the noted pages per se, but creating a regular page, styled with Elementor and then adding the WPSP shortcode to that page. You use WPSP to select which posts/categories you want to be displayed on each WPSP “list”.

LyleWhat you want to do is very easy to accomplish with the Elementor Library Export / Import options.
– on the test site, save the page as a template into your library
– from the library, export the page
– on the live site, open the library and import the page exported above
– on the live site, create a new page and insert the page from the library ??Cheers!

I use WP Show Posts extensively and have not had this issue when using the standard post types. A couple things to look into:
– are you using the latest Elementor, 0.9,2 and WP Show Posts, 0.6
– do you have your CPT checked “on” in Dashboard > Elementor > Settings > Post Types
– try adding the WPSP shortcode to an Elementor Text element instead of the Elementor Shortcode widgetThere is (was) an issue I was having with Elementor and the Lifter LMS plugin and it’s Courses and Lessons post types (essentially CPTs). The Elementor crew came up with a fix for this issue so it may apply to your CPT as well. You can get the latest build on their Git Hub https://github.com/pojome/elementor
Cheers!
