greatgoron, Thanks for the fix. It works fine now.

It’s working now thanks to the wonderful help-guys at my web host. Seems that I had saved my .htaccess file in RTF and even though I was changing the name to .htaccess there were some residual RTF parts leftover and screwing everything up.

I have contacted my web host and asked for assistance. Hopefully they will have a solution that will ease my misery. Thanks for you help manstraw.

I have tried a blank .htaccess file, as well as one that has the permalinks page suggested text. I have tried to put it in same directory as the index.php as well as one below it and one above it. My site is on an apache server and it has mod-rewrite on. There must be something that I’m overlooking, but I can’t find it. The short of it is that no matter where, or what is in the .htaccess file when I upload it and try to access my site I get an 500 error code.
