i don’t care where the comments are Max. I wrote a review on my blog and posted a link to my review on this forum (it could have been misc as well), simple as that. I take comments on the blog or follow them here. I am just sharing my experiences with my personal assesement of the two systems. I agree with metabold…just chill and have one (or more) of those fine german beers you have over there. see you next time….:-)

i’ve saw a stat, recent stat, that said about 25% still uses 800×600 but that number is lower depending on your target audience. 1024×764 seems reasonable for 80-90% if its the right demographic.

frankly, powweb should be taken off the hosting page here…..

I did the same thing. Working for a client, I made a reccommendation to move to Powweb (they wanted frontpage extensions for interim). After being with one ISP, I moved and simply these guys are terrible. Their entire mail server that we were put on has serious problems in that we can receive but not send email. It’s their mail servers. Also DNS and subdomain redirects DONT work. I also found their admin console (not cpanel) funky. Bottom Line, I have to move the client again, making me look bad for reccommending Powweb and lost time and effort with DNS downtime to move to another. I was going to go with OpenSOurceHost and the only thing stopping me was no FrontPage (understandably but client needs transistion). My recco is don’t go to powweb…you get what you pay for and i got the wrong end of the draw on the servers they put us on.

I am doing both Drupal 4.6 and WordPress 1.5 development and design.

It doesn’t surprise me that Powweb installed 1.2.2. I mean WordPress is simple enough to install (unlike MT which I’ve gone off of–install, rebuild, regid-design, and trying to do both self-hosted and hosted platforms, not as open as WordPress community, etc).

to the british guy above, i am also getting the comment 404 error on WP1.5 as well but the moobile edition does view great on my sidekick. good plugin alex!

I agree. Please! WP image upload even with Image Brwser is nowhere near Ecto. MarsEdit even fails.

Appears to be a WP XMLRPC parsing and/or other errors with WP1.5.

ecto is having problems on image upload as well.
is this a WP XML RPC ug or bug in Ecto and MarsEdit for WP 1.5?

So I added
Options -Indexes +FollowSymlinks to my .htaccess, chmod 666 and enabled permalinks
and it appeared to work in my root dir (Blog URI).

However, when I add a post summary and click on CONTINUE READING in my POST it will now show the remaining article and instead point to Archive summary list.

I did not modify .htaccess REWRITE Rules as above to modify link. Do I need to manually change the REWRITE rules.

I have lost 2 solid days reading Media Temple pages and these pages. I am close but no cigar and close to giving up.
