My bad! We did buy the pro version but I forgot. I have attached my license. Here is the purchase date: 2024-03-15 06:07:02 UTC
No problem. I have the free version and I will try to be clearer. When I installed your (very useful) plugin I created a new post and checked that it was listed in your Front End Management Dashboard. All good, but then I realized I didn’t see my previously created posts. Is there any way to include, in your posts list, the posts that were created before your plugin was installed?

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Slow Calendar UpdateAs I said in the initial post “I have tried clearing the plugin cache and the website cache and the browser cache”. The first of the ?‘clear cache links’ is working but the second one doesn’t seem to do anything. Both of them are always there, even with all caches turned off. Doesn’t bother me, just looks odd.
The clearing cache seems to be working ok consistently now. The only change I made was to refresh the calendar after 1 hour instead of 2. I presume that has nothing to do with the manual clearing of the cache but it has been working well since I made that change.
Many thanks for all your help and information.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Slow Calendar UpdateHi John,
As I said initially ”?I have tried clearing the plugin cache and the website cache and the browser cache” as well as trying to clear the calendar caches.
The screen shot I sent shows that, when you hover to see the Edit | Quick Edit etc in the Calendars list, that there are 2 Clear Cache links: Edit?|?Quick?Edit?|?Trash?|?View?|?Clone?|?Clear Cache?|?Clear Cache. Just looks odd. If I click on the first one I see a spinner in the browser tab but nothing else. If I click on the second one I see nothing at all.
If I click on the Clear Cache button on the edit page I do see the spinner clearly. I just tested a change on a calendar event and both the 12 month List calendar and the Month Grid calendar picked it up quite quickly .
Then I do the same thing and it hadn’t synced up in 10 minutes. I cleared the caches again and it took a 2 or 3 of minutes but it did sync up.
So, I keep clearing the plugin cache with variant results. I could try re-installing if I wouldn’t lose the calendar settings?

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Slow Calendar UpdateThanks for getting back so promptly. I did attempt to clear all the caches but you just opened up a question. I was clicking on the Clear Cache link in the calendars list:
In fact, you can see two Clear Cache links. I found it odd that I could click on the link and it seemed to recognize the click but did not give a confirmation. Now you have showed me the Clear Cache on the edit page, which is clearer but there is still no response.
So, what are the 2 Clear Cache links in the calendars list supposed to do and should there be a response to Clear Cache in the edit page?

In reply to: [Pretty Google Calendar] List starting at current day when set to Month modeI experimented with having a list displayed for the whole year: [pretty_google_calendar gcal=”[email protected]” list_type=”listYear” views=”listCustom” initial_view=”listCustom”]
But that just displayed the only event in the range of the title: Jan 16 – Feb 12, 2025 and clicking next displayed the title: Feb 13 – Mar 12, 2025 etc.
After I reverted removing all of the shortcode options except the calendar: [pretty_google_calendar gcal=”[email protected]”] the Month mode is months but the List mode is in 28 days mode.
I’m obviously missing something?

In reply to: [Pretty Google Calendar] Display DescriptionI will vote on the attachments feature because our attachments are for signing up etc.
Add to Google Calendar I looked at several events and the one I saw as ‘overlap’ was just it being small and the button was overlapping a little bit of the text. No big deal. But I can see this confusing our users and we don’t need it. Do you have a shortcode parameter to hide it? If not I’ll just css it out.

In reply to: [Pretty Google Calendar] Display DescriptionThank you for pointing out how to display the event description but I am a little confused about what I am seeing. There is a button titled Add to Google Calendar that partially overlaps the description display. Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t get the purpose. The data being displayed comes from the Google calendar so what does the Add to Google Calendar mean in this context?

In reply to: [Pretty Google Calendar] Display DescriptionPerfect, thankyou! Now for another one – is it possible to include event attachments in the event display?
I have narrowed it down to it only being a problem whenthe Ultimate Member plugin is active. I will contact them but can you tell me if this situation has been previously reported yto you?
cancel that, it’s working ok.
I used 2022% at first because your documentation contains this example:
YOUR-URL/?wpda_search_column_title=Last%
but in the initial post you can see that I also tried %25:
I tried 2020%25 to see if that would work and there was no error but nothing rendered.
I re-ran the same tests on the main issue (accessing the calendar) that actually needs the %25 I have the same problems as before
https://fridayharborsailing.com/wp/view-calendar/?wpda_search_column_date=2020%25
However, I think I have found the cause of the problem. The calendar table is setup with the Data Publisher/Advanced Settings/WHERE Clause containing YEAR(date)=”YEAR(CURDATE())” and I guess I was expecting the?URL parameter to override the Where clause if necessary but that appears to be not the case. If I remove the YEAR(date)=”YEAR(CURDATE())” from the WHERE clause and use the %25 it works perfectly. This means there is no configured default year but that’s an easy change.
So, if you agree that this conclusion makes sense I thank you for your time and your patience. You have a great plugin here!
Sorry Peter I checked in my sent and it appears I replied to your email which had a no-reply destination! Here it is:
Thanks for getting back.? I have another table (officers) that is simpler and doesn’t actually need a wild card because this table has a ‘year’ column, which is a text type. Here is the columns list:
Again, if I use your Query Builder it works fine, both with and without the % character:
SELECT * FROM
wpws_fhsc_officers
WHERE year LIKE “2021%”SELECT * FROM
wpws_fhsc_officers
WHERE year LIKE “2021”SELECT * FROM
wpws_fhsc_officers
WHERE year = “2021”In WPDA the default WHERE clause is year=YEAR(CURDATE()) and it displays the officers for the current year with no problem. The shortcode is [wpdataaccess pub_name=”fhsc_officers”]When I add the URL parameter without the % I see “No matching records found” but no console error.
https://fridayharborsailing.com/wp/view-officers/?wpda_search_column_year=2020
If I add the % character I see the console error (URIError: URI malformed)
https://fridayharborsailing.com/wp/view-officers/?wpda_search_column_year=2020%
Note: the “/wp” folder is a separate WordPress system for my testing.
Thanks, Les
