Thank you for your help. This theme doesn’t support menus “natively.” I was able to create a custom menu widget that will put my dropdown pages in the sidebar. Not the most elegant, but may be all that I can do. I think that this is a theme issue. I’ve worked with other themes and the dropdown was created anytime I made a page a child page. We like this theme because of the background, but I may need to look for another one.

I am trying to set up a Twenty Ten – no modification (using parent theme). I cannot figure out how to turn off Comments. Right now I am setting up Pages only (may want Comments in the future for blog page). I don’t see anywhere to modify the code as suggested. I’ve turned off Comments in Discussion and also unchecked Comments in the Screen Options on Pages. Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. I had actually done that to the Coraline theme based on the comments on the closed discussion. I guess that it didn’t affect the page that I had already created, but did affect the second one. I deleted the Home page and put it in again and now it’s fine. Thanks everyone for your help.

Thanks. I had tried that theme before with the same results. But, I did as you said. Turned off plug ins and used Twenty Ten 1.2. Same thing. Home page has Comments box. Chronic Pain doesn’t.

There is no place on either theme on a Page to turn off Comments. This seems to be a WordPress general issue rather than related to theme.

I cannot find anywhere to turn off Page comments. It is not on the individual page. The Screen options referenced above are not there, even for the main Dashboard page. I just set up a new site this morning and it is running on WordPress 3.1.1. I even tried installing a plug-in that is supposed to turn off page comments globally and it is working.
