I logged in here to post a topic on the same issue. I have been using the plugin for a month now, and have more than 5 million rows in wp-options. What plug-in did you use to stop it?
“WP-optimize” plugin will do the work just fine (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-optimize/)
When you run it and/or schedule it for automated cleaning don’t forget to turn on “Remove transient options”. It is them who inflate your DB. And this plugin will do some other cleaning which is also useful.
Thus you don’t need to pay $45 – it’s 10 mins of automated work. Freelancer either misunderstood you or just lied to you.
There is a way to avoid this – turn off using transients in Yuzo options, but I guess it will slow down the plugin.
As for me I ended up using Zemanta instead.
