In reply to: [HREFLANG Tags Lite] Bulk-editingDavid,
I’m glad to hear that you’re willing to work with me to improve your software and make it as good as possible for the amount of money it costs – it’s very reasonable and I’m glad you’re trying to work out a sustainable business model. You’re not being entirely forthright about your plugin’s description, however.
The description in the plugin repository, for the pro version, is as follows.
New Pro features!
? HTML Generator – Generate HTML code instantly for use on your non-WordPress websites
? Bulk Editor – Save yourself the hassle of opening each page, post or product one-by-one and use this tool to update all your entries in one convenient location
? Validation tool – Now you can test your hreflang tags directly from the meta boxSee, that “Bulk Editor”-word is where the one-star rating comes in. It’s part of the description; in fact, it’s what pulls the consumer to read the rest of the description You’re not editing anything in bulk – you’re moving it to one location in bulk, then you manually edit it. It would be like moving a bag of rice from the shop, to your home, in bulk. Once home, you proceed to add one grain of rice from the bag into the boiling water.
That’s what this plugin does. As for what Yoast SEO does is wholly irrelevant. I don’t use the plugin so I can’t comment on it. However, if they use the same practice, all I can say is this: two wrongs don’t make a right. If it’s standard practice here to call a feature such as yours “Bulk editor”, all I can say is that it’s unfortunate for the consumer.
Mind you, it was two weeks ago since I used this plugin and I don’t wish to reinstall it, set it up and deal with all the dead links from hreflang-tags again just for this.
Having said that here’s my suggestion. Most of the settings were identical from bar to bar, if I remember correctly maybe one of them wasn’t. Make a “master bar” at the top, where you make the change you want that are identical and can be applied to all bars below. Have a button that says, “Apply to all”, or something similar. Then if there’s something that needs to be fixed individually, obviously, that’s simply the case and not much to do about.
Then you’ve edited what you can in bulk.
I do appreciate you taking the time to improve your plugin based on user feedback. I bought the full version of the plugin to save time and effort though, which I’m not. I realize you offered a refund, I tend to keep my email private though. Either way, at this stage, I’ve put in more work than the 8$ I paid.
I wish you good luck and hope you can improve your plugin to a standard where the pro version deserves a five-star rating – you’ve already got the customer interaction down, which is promising and I do congratulate you for it. Best of luck, David!
Kind regards,
Erik SturessonPS: Certain remarks may come off as snide; it was not my intention, I’m trying to be polite and I’m most sincere. I don’t have time to edit them out though, I apologize.

In reply to: [HREFLANG Tags Lite] Bulk-editingI apologize for being unclear in the opening of my review. I realize that saying “I have many posts to translate” can make it unclear. I’ll change that so everyone understands that I meant that I have many posts I need to translate, and thus add hreflang to, and thus wanted a plugin that does it in bulk.
I did not expect this plugin to translate all pages – just make it easier to add several hreflang, in bulk, as opposed to doing it one post at a time. All this plugin does is place all the “posts” that need hreflang in one place, and have you do everything manually, one by one – the opposite of doing it in bulk!
If you were honest, you’d say: “We’ll gather all posts that need an hreflang in one, easy and convenient place so you can manually add hreflang-tags to each post without having to manually edit each post.” That’s what it does – nothing more.
I feel I made this clear in the rest of the review – if you read past the first sentence, we’d probably be on the same side here. My review stands. You can keep the money though, and I’ll keep my email.
Remove the word “bulk” and I’ll reconsider.
Best regards,
