Thank you for the explanation. I am a bit confused because to my understanding I have ticked all the boxes for preventing the users to access their profiles / accounts. I also have a different url for wp-login set for security, so they shouldn’t be able to access that either?

I have two sites that have crashed completely last night (white screen of death). I’ve managed to get them back by slow process of elimination and found the cause to be the wp-user manager plugin after update (I discovered the first white screen 5 hours after your update). I’ve tried to reinstall and when I activate on the one I get the following message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_template_part() on null in …/wp-content/plugins/wp-user-manager/includes/wpum-shortcodes/shortcodes.php on line 38

I am getting a similar problem with the wp-captcha.

This has also now caused my menu items to lose their settings for logged in / logged out.

I really hope you manage to sort this out asap, as I’ve had to shut down my clients’ sites until this is fixed.

I have the same problem. First white screen of death. Reinstalled plugin, and now get fatal error message. Help please!

Hi Dylan,

I’m having a similar issue on my sites: e.g https://d-zinehub.com/about-d-zinehub/ and jyb.co.za, running of different themes.

This plugin was working perfectly until the last update and still works fine on a couple of other sites, e.g. rainydaysandholidays.com

The ‘problem’ sites still show the facebook cover image, and I’ve checked my sizing in the widget settings – posts should still be showing up.

Thanks for the speedy response!

You’re right about ‘real bad’ – I learned that the hard way!! Thank heavens I came across WF – you’re all very clever and on the ball.

It’s encouraging to hear that the manual block isn’t necessary, it was really getting out of hand… I’m going to regard the WF notices as notification only in future – thank you :).

As for number three, having WF active and the renamed login page, I’m also going to leave the htaccess as it is for now and monitor whether the change to login has made a difference. Will get back to you if not.

Quick follow up – I landed up with suffusion theme and customising it to client’s satisfaction, all the similar elements are there but it definitely has a life of its own. We binned the idea of the tab image for the titles, which was quite a relief.

I’m no expert at html or css but I should be able to sort out what you’ve suggested (with a lot of experimenting :)). I’ll give it a try and let you know how it goes. (have to log off now so it’ll be some time over the weekend).

I love suffusion theme ?? I was hoping there would be something closer to what I’m looking for, rather than so much customising… but I’ve installed suffusion in the meantime and been working through it.

Do you have any idea where / how I could get the ‘tab’-looking post and widget headings that are on the other (sample) site – I’m guessing this would be a plugin and I’d have to create a background image?
