In reply to: [Customizr] Phone number in header above navbarHi there, I created the Child Theme with the child themify plugin which only creates a style.css file (which is enough to create a child theme). The snippet you suggested then tells me that “if you want to add custom functions in a functions.php file, or new folder/files, you can either upload them by FTP or use the following plugin to easily manage your files right from admin : https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-filemanager/” ……So to clarify, the child theme functions.php file is a completely different file to the style.css file? Do I need to to download the plugin wp-FileManager? And if so how do I then locate the functions.php file in this plugin?
Thanks again for all your patience – am ready to throw in the towel!

In reply to: [Customizr] Phone number in header above navbarHi rdellconsulting – apologies in advance here about my lack of knowledge but when you say “Add the following to your Child Theme functions.php:” what do you mean? Where do I add that? I’ve been working only in the css box in the “customise it” menu and don’t know anything about php. I have just finished creating a child theme using the child themify plugin however if that’s any help.

In reply to: [Customizr] Phone number in header above navbarThat’s no problem, I really appreciate you responding and trying to help. I have now removed that piece of code from the css. Thanks again.

In reply to: [Customizr] Phone number in header above navbarHi rdellconsulting – thanks so much for your help thus far. I tried that but the second line is staying put underneath the original tagline and not aligning to the opposite side of the page as desired. So I wonder is there any solution to this or could I place all elements on one line? In other words, the logo would remain aligned to the left and either the tagline (plus 2nd line) could be centred and the social icons would align to the right hand side of page (or vice versa, it’s only the logo I want to keep on the left of page). I understand that could be very complicated and my knowledge of code is pretty much zero but if you have any ideas, that would be really appreciated. Many thanks.

In reply to: [Customizr] How to Increase Size of Logo?I also have this problem – I’d like to make the logo a bit bigger – the header/logo can be viewed at https://www.ottoclinic.eu/wp/
Thanks yet again for any help you can give on this – I’m really grateful.
Hi tomaja,
Thanks for your insight and patience – I know the css code is quite messy – mainly because I don’t know what I’m doing! In response to your comments on the max-width, would that explain why the About Us menu keeps disappearing off the navbar when I click on a page in any other dropdown menu? I’m going to go through the css and try to sort it out so will keep you posted. Thanks again for all your help on this.
Hi again, thanks so much for your response above – I tried that and it helped and I found that by reducing the width to 984 px, the home page layout, widths of all the elements in IE looks fine but in Chrome and Mozilla it looks wrong e.g. the header and navbar are not the same width as everything below them. I just wonder is there a way to set the code in the css in order that the site pages are exactly the same in every browser? I thought I came across a snippet for this in the user forum but now can’t find it. Any help greatly appreciated – you can see the site at https://www.ottoclinic.eu/wp/. Many thanks.

In reply to: [Customizr] Changing order of contains on front pagehI jO,
I had a similar problem and in the end I just diabled the featured pages in the customise it menu but I’m still be interested in finding a solution to this if there is one.
Hi rdell,
Thanks so much for your help on this – got the logo aligned left with tagline directly under it and social icons aligned right in header so I think that will work for the moment. It looks pretty good – maybe when I have the site live, I’ll send you a link to see if its possible to position all three on one line. But for the moment I’m going to mark this issue resolved.
Thanks again for your help.
