Delete Me

This isn’t about cleaning spammy comments, but about getting email notifications of ghost spam that apparently don’t exist.

So far collecting and caching is working, I think the issues were all stemming from the fact that it doesn’t initially accept the changes I make in the settings. I usually have to save the settings a few times before they stick, including pre-load settings as well. Not sure why.

Ok, I think I see why the timer is giving me issues. I set it to work every 600 seconds, then saved the changes. When I went back to settings though, the timer was instead switched to Clock mode, set to only do garbage collection at midnight on a weekly basis. That explains why I’m seeing a ton of expired cached files.

Ive gone back into settings and set garbage collection back to 600 seconds again. Exited, then went back to settings again to ensure the changes took. So far it has, but I’ll have to check again in a couple of hours to see how things are progressing.

Still broken, it refuses to delete the cache of the page I’m on, or any cache at all when I’m in admin. Other delete options work fine, including the settings page where I can click and view the current list of caches and delete them individually. A link like this on the list of caches works fine:

I don’t know if it’s related, but when I see the list of cache files, it has a trailing slash (e.g. blahblahblah.com/blah/. My permalinks don’t use trailing slashes though. (e.g. blahblahblah.com/blah )

I can’t see this being a permissions issue, as the old delete options work fine, it’s just the delte button in the admin bar that remains broken.

Had to migrate to a new host so i haven’t reactivated Super Cache yet. Will reinstall later today and report back the results. ??

Hmmm, how should I edit the code to test it though?

I enabled my tool bar so it shows up everywhere (instead of just admin) but the delete button still doesn’t work. Tried this on Chrome and Firefox 8.0. Weird.

The upgrade doesn’t carry over the old settings. Be nice if this was mentioned in the changelog.

So far the mass deletions that trigger after it preloads /blog have stopped, just have to wait to ensure the caches expire without issue and are preloaded again after 70 minutes.

What was changed if you don’t mind me asking?

Maybe I can avoid this issue if the preload can somehow skip trying to preload my post page “/blog” Is there a way to limit Super Cache to only preloading single posts pages rather than posts, tags, categories and pages? I didn’t have this issue in .9.9.9 so I’m wondering if this change in the preload mechanism might be a reason why this is happening.

And so on. This mass delete is always triggered after it hits “/blog” too. I’m wondering if it’s a theme conflict of some kind (I’m using the Headway theme, https://www.headwaythemes.com )

It takes about 15 minutes for the preload to complete its cycle. I’ll set it to 720 minutes now to see if that helps things and report back.

I checked it again, it appears the deletions do indeed start occurring right after it preloads my blog page. Any help appreciated!

I enabled debug mode to see what was going on. When it’s preloading everything seems to carry on as usual, until it preloads my blog page (I split up my front page and blog page in my WordPress settings). Then this happens:

And then it just continues going deleting about 100 caches until it finally stops. I haven’t confirmed to see its attempt to preload my posts page (blog page) is what triggers this, for that I’ll have to check debugging again and test one more time.

But you can see it’s inexplicably deleting 100+ of the caches it had just created not only moments before.
